Trying to decide on pop century or riverside for late September trip. Have AAA and Riverside is about $40.00 more a night than POP Century. Any input would be appreciated.

I can't speak for POR, but just got back from POP and it was very nice. THe rooms were fine and theming was great. Enjoyed the food court. We were right near the pool on the first floor which was also a plus. It was a short walk to the food court, but not bad at all.

I hate to say it, but this is a no brainer! POR is that much better than POP. It's two different worlds. Pay the couple extra bucks, you'll know where they went. And you'll never go back!!

Are you travelling with children? If not, I'd suggest POR.

We went last Sept and had the same dilemma POP or POR. We chose POR and LOVED it. Family oriented but not overwhelming with children.

For my fairy tale wedding last year, some of my family stayed at POP, while my immediate family and myself stayed at POR. POP was very neat, from what I saw. The rooms seemed much smaller at POP than POR. Also, at POP, there is only one big pool. Personally, I love the quiet pools at the moderate resorts. I think they are more fun, and you have the ability to enjoy the pool itself more. The quiet pools are one of the main reasons I won't stay at the deluxes. If it were me, I would choose POR. The bigger rooms, note I did not say nicer, are incentive to stay at POR, as are the quiet pools. POR also has beautiful grounds. In the end, it is really up to your personal preferences, but I would go with POR.

I have stayed at both and prefer POP. in fact, I would pay $40 per night more to stay at POP than POR riverside any day of the week.
I didn't like the look of the swamps (or lakes) and found them downright creepy looking. I thought they looked snakey and I didn't like the rustic look of the room we stayed in. I thought it looked like a camping cabin or something, and one night late after an E-ride night, the bus dropped us off in what was suppose to be our area. it was myself and my DD, no body else got off in our area and it was dark and unlit. no lights but the moonlight, and we ran scared to death along a long winding path until we came to our room area. we were terrified. I don't see how we could have gotten off the path, or even if we did, but it was one of the most frightening experiences I have ever had at WDW. needless to say, we never took the buses again, and I drove to the parks the rest of our stay. maybe it was just my bad experience, but like I have said before, I wouldn't stay at riverside again if it was FREE!

Between the two, I would chose POR. They are both nice but we found the atmoshpere and overall layout nicer at POR. The boat ride to Downtown Disney was also nice and relaxing.
