We are going on a Disney trip this January. It will be my mother, Sister, brother-in-law and Nephews(almost 2 and 5). We are going for my nephews 5th birthday.

W are trying to deside between Port New Orleans: Riverside or Coronado Springs.

Which would be better for smaller children. They are the focus of this trip.

For smaller children, I'd get better transportation. Coronado is all buses, and PO is buses except for the boat to Disney Springs.

Caribbean Beach is similar in price, but has gondola access to two parks and fantastic pools. A double stroller is a lot easier on the Skyliner than the bus.

Love CSR.

Cannot stand POR - it feels stuffy (Mansions) or junky (Bayou) to me.

I voted for POR because of the two it's the only one I've been to.

I believe the pros/cons are about the same for the resort.

Both have a decent foot print with multiple bus stops.
I believe the main pool at Coronado might be slightly more appealing for kids although the splash pad at FQ is pretty awesome. My then 20 month old loved it.
For adults on the trip, the dining scales might tip more in coronado's favor however Disney Springs is a boat ride away from POR.

Both are bus only to everywhere. Coronado might be slightly more centrally located while POR is a tad closer to Epcot than the others.

In my mind, these resorts are about the same and I might book on whatever rate was better.

On dining, the QS at Coronado is absolutely horrendous, but the Three Bridges TS is excellent and has probably my favorite burger on property.

We have a car, I won’t be using Disney transportation to get to parks. So it’s not a factor in our decision.

Those were the two choices because with the current special they had the best prices. since it’s January I don’t know how much pool time we will have.

If you have a car, I'd probably book on the theme you like best OR the best rate.
Port Orleans- Stately mansions or Log cabin theming
Coronado- Spanish/Mexican/American Southwest theming

Go with best price or theming you like best. I’ve stayed at both resorts and like them both.

POR.. and don’t miss the boat to DS, and it also stops at pofq. Both resort pools are great for the kids and of course POR has the quiet pools as well as main one. U can use amenities at either resort.
safe and enjoyable travels ur way!
