We have CBR booked and have stayed there twice (once during the same time frame). We love CBR (Jamaica both times), last May/June was our last visit, have never had a problem with the resort itself and love the whole island concept. Outside of CBR we also really love POP and AKL.

Now DS wants all of us to switch to POR for our upcoming trip. Called last night and was able to switch our ressie to POR garden view (no standard available with the free dining promotion).

Keep in mind we have a 15 day trip and 10 day ticket so we will spend time at the resort. I do have to say that trees with the spanish moss and crape myrtles are my favorite trees. We have seen the pictures and researched.

Convince me:thumbsup2 about the switch. Would love to hear from all but really hoping to hear from people that have stayed at both and would love to hear the difference with Christmas decorations travel exerience during christmas week.

I think you'll have a great trip pixiedust:

We've stayed at POR & CBR many times including several Christmas trips at POR. We've also had 2 Christmas trips at WL.

I liked staying at POR during Christmas even better than WL. As beautiful as WL is, the resort is very hectic for most of the day and evening, and POR gets hectic too, but it just seems more peaceful overall. CBR is great, but obviously doesn't have a traditional Christmas feel :)

The decorations at POR are very pretty. Red & White flowers at the front and back resort center entrance, large tree in the lobby. The last few years there have been less decorations, used to be swags hanging in the windows in the walkway to the restaurant and food court and in the lounge area, and I miss those. Regardless, the main resort area will have a Christmas holiday vibe.

I enjoyed taking my time getting around POR and didn't matter where our room was, we would use the front bus stop just we could walk thru the lobby and grounds each time. Got a mug of hot chocolate each day. Took a night or two to see Yehaa Bob Jackson in the lounge. There is a fireplace in the lounge and it makes for a good area for groups to meet up. Some years they would have Christmas coloring sheets and my kids enjoyed eating meals in the food court by the tv and coloring. Simple things, but very enjoyable. A nice long trip is perfect for having time to enjoy the simple things.

Enjoy!
