We have a room only reservation for this fall, I called today to price changing to the FTP (yes, I waited debating what to do). The CM said there was not any rooms left at POR for our dates (09/28-10/05). Wow, could they have sold out already? I guess thats what I get for waiting (I am glad I still have the room only). She was a very nice CM but it took her 15 minutes just to tell me that there was not any rooms available and she seemed rather confused. Do you think if I call back maybe I will get a different answer?

They probably are not taking many reservations with the renovations going on and half the resort rooms rumored to be closed during the renovations. I noticed when the FT package first came out that POR was not available on expedia site. They are probably underbooking to avoid having to move people. Try the disney web site and see if you get availabilities there...

I checked on the website and its saying no availability. I guess I should not have waited, maybe if I keep checking something will open up.

did you look at any other resorts...we had a room only at POR too, but with the FT pkg we upgraded to the BC for only a little bit more than passes and discounted room were going to be at POR for 10/03...

With the planned renovations at POR we did not want to risk being asked to move at a later date...like to have my plans made...

have a great trip

I just got back from POR and it looks like they are getting ready to rehab. POFQ is completely closed but twice the busdrivers went the wrong way not knowing that POFQ was closed. So obviously they all dont get informed. My dad talked to a CM who said that POFQ would be done by october. I told my dad I didnt believe that one. At POR it looked like some of the parking lots in front of some of the alligator bayou lodges were empty. We were in room 1806. I didnt think the resort looked packed. IT didnt seem crowded to me but it was my first time there. I did notice that they were draining the "lagoon" next to lodge 18. But other then that all went well. The boat was still running and the restaurants were still running. No beignets at POR.

Does it make sense that POR is showing "no availablility" for the FTP but the exact same dates room only shows "availability"? Like I said, I do have a room only reservation but wanted to switch to the FTP. Thanks.

Yes, because the FTP is "limited availability." They set aside a certain number of rooms for a special like that. Once that number is gone, they are no longer available.

Some of it is probably due to some buildings being closed for rehab and others being moved from PO/FQ

Try calling the relocation number and see if they can work anything out for you. Just tell them you already have the resverations but want to switch to the package.

I tried calling the regular number to swich my POR ressie too, but they couldn't do it and the CM suggested that the relocation team might help. I came back here to see if anyone else had info before I called and saw all of the "I upgraded to the Poly" post and figured "what a great idea" so I put our savings into the upgrade. I never tried to get that POR pkg. I cancelled my POR ressie, so I don't know that they can help, But try the relocation number they might be able to overide something.

Hang tight to "that's where I wan't to stay", hopefuly it will be open or at the worst you can get an inexpensive upgrade latter.:D
