I'm helping a friend plan his trip. He will be proposing to his girlfriend and wants some info.

Are there balconies at the resort?

Which would you consider more romantic the mansions or the bayou?

Anyone have recent room pictures?

Thanks

Lizzie-

No balconies at any of the moderates--poeople will be walking back and forth right outside your window, so there's no privacy--you have to leave th drapes closed when you're in the room or people can see right in :(

Rather than POR, why not POFQ? MUCH more romantic, and there's some out of the way nooks and crannies in thr gardens which are nice. If it has to be POR, the mansions seem much more romantic to me (think Rhett scooping up Scarlett LOL!) and there's LOTS and LOTS of kids at the Bayou's, which isn't really the best for romance.

If he wants to really pull out the stops--tell him to spend the $$ and charter teh Grand 1 for the fireworks--not terribly romanitc for us as we had another couple along (which wasn't a problem, and was FABULOUS!), but it could be probably the single most romantic thing at WDW :)

Well, my opinion is probably hopelessly old-fashioned, but I think they ought to be married before traveling and sharing a room together.

In answer to the question, however, there are no balconies at POR. You won't find private balconies at any of the moderates.

I've read recently on these boards that there are horse and carriage rides at both the POR and POFQ. Why not take a romantic carriage ride and at an appropriate romantic spot pop the question.........I think you have to make reservations in advance and can even get champagne......sounds like a good plan, HUH??

Whatever he decides, it is romantic no matter what.....I wish them lots of love and luck and of course endless amounts of Disney magic in their lives!! PIXIEDUST all around!!

Thanks Christine -

That's an awesome idea. I'll definitely pass it on.

When we went there last time, we took the path that connected Riverside and FQ and found it very romantic at night. Also I believe there is a little gazebos on one of the hotel grounds (FQ or Riverside). I think either could be very romantic.

I wouldn't worry if that is where he wants to do it. It would be romantic anywhere on the grounds.
