POR Bus Transportation problems

I've never waited that long for a bus - at any resort. I think someone was either exaggerating or was saying it took that long to get from point a to point b or something! I will say that we drive our car and do use it to go to the water parks, mini-golf and any non-monorail resorts because I can see that it would take that long to go from POR to maybe AKL - you'd have to take a bus to a hub and then take another bus to AKL. And for some stupid reason they ususally tell you to transfer at Downtown Disney - which is the worst bus service IMO! (Luckily we're at POR so we'll have the boat!) But we never use our car to go to the parks - we enjoy the bus rides - usually meet lots of nice folks and it's our chance to talk to little kids!

Just returned last nite from 8 days at POR, during FAY and used the buses.
ONE nite at MK at closing the line for POR was VERY VERY LONG, the wait was 25 minutes and then two buses pulled up one next to the other to get everyone back to the resort. We had NO other issues with the buses at all, even with the rain.

I DID notice that the buses seemed to make MORE stops than I recall in past and actually reversed the route thru the stops several times at pOR. Perhaps to "even it out" to all those of us at the "first" stop at front of resort???
Either way, I think for the amount of people at POR this last week, with FREE DINE and a BOOKED resort, they did a fabulous job.
As far as PEOPLE go, there will still be those that get on the line last and "just happen" to get on the bus BEFORE the people at the front of the line (at the resort, not the parks) (a second bus pulls up while first has not yet pulled away so those at back of line jump in), not that I really blame them, but none the less frustrating!! That did happen to us once. I walked over to CM who was there with a clip board and brought it to his attention and he apologized and said, yeah driver should not have opened doors. Anyway, another 15 minute wait had us on next bus.
Things happen, its a vacation, so just try and relax and go with the flow. Personally I would not spend 150 on a car that will sit in a lot all week, except to be driven to make an ADR. I think if you plan your time, you'll have no issues.
Good Luck and have a fabulous trip.
