Popular things you just don't get..

Wow so many of the things I was gonna put have been said so far, so how the hell are they so popular :lmao:

Harry Potter (tho I plan to watch the films before going to Universal in August)
Twilight (I guess it's mainly for teenage girls)
ANY talent/reality show (XFactor, BB etc)

And my biggest one, Peter Kay!! Was funny ish once upon a time but he is really the most overrated comedian ever IMO :)

:goodvibes

I don't get the Bibbi-bobbi-di boutique thing - I'm really uncomfortable with the way the little girls look after their makeovers.

I dont get

Twitter - love my facebook but im not great been limited to so few letters !!!

bibbidi bobbidi makeover- the girls all come out looking like they are going to enter a beauty pageant makes me uncomfortable with so much make up on such tiny tots!!

Twilight - read 3 chapters of the first book and thought it was pants !!

celebrity magazines- lets face it noone else has the money or inclination to look like these people so why but the rubbish trying to make you??

Gavin and stacey - sorry know millions love it but I just dont get it - so not funny to me!!

Little Britian - again just not funny !!!

Good one, I agree!

I mean, I liked Phoenix Nights, but how much of it Peter Kay actually wrote is debatable considering how poor Max and Paddy was in comparison (another reason to dislike Peter Kay is he introduced the world to Paddy McGuiness, shudder) - Apparently Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice did most of the writing!

He just seems to be lowest common denominator, catchphrase comedy by numbers these days, which was OK at his height 5/6 years ago, but he needs to move on!

Seeing him on Jonathan Ross not long back, where he was putting two fingers up against the side of his face just confirmed how poor he actually is!

Sorry for the rant :lmao:

:goodvibes

Harrods
Shoe/handbag obsessions

X-factor/BGT - just makes me cringe.
Lord of the Rings.
"Mystical" and "Spiritual" interior items (dreamcatchers, wolf blankets/tapestry, crystals...I could go on and on...)
Same but linked to film/TV - don't understand wanting a (often expensive) statue of Dr Who or "The Terminator" in your lounge:confused3
TV Soaps.
Chardonnay :scared1:
WAG obsession.
Ugg boots.
Flat screen TV obsession.
Purple.

Twilight - Would bore me senseless.
Beach Holidays - Had plently of them when i was younger and they bored me senseless
Gossip Girl - Yawn
Bibbity Bobbity Boutique - I can't imagine plastering a whole load of make up on my DD, makes me feel uncomfortable.
Iphone/blackberry - Don't get the hype. Sorry
Text Messaging - Its quicker to call.

I like Peter Kay and I loved Max and Paddy, we all have different tastes though. His material does rely on observations though, and to a degree it can get a bit repetitive.

Mine:

Katie and Peter - like I care whether they are back together or not, constantly on TV and in the papers, yawn.
'It' celebrities - whatever they are, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Kerry Katona etc - don't get why they are 'celebs' at all.
Eastenders - has to be the most depressing programme ever.
24 - admire Keifer Sutherland but the show goes on for so long I can't get into it.
Mr and Mrs/ Family Fortunes TV shows - utterly depressing
Garlic - despise the stuff, smells horrible and when people smell of it in the morning I could vomit!
Paul O'Grady show, Richard and Judy, Loose Women - sorry don't get them at all
Holly Willoughby - pretty but annoying.
Michael McIntyre - just keep still will you please!
Lee Evans - same applies
Lady Ga Ga - what a load of old tripe
Big Brother - stick a load of wierdos in a room and call it entertainment
Bicycles - good for exercise, but if you are a paper boy or ride around in the dark, put some lights on your bike!
Middle lane of motorway - is popular, but is for overtaking people!
Granary bread - bread with 'bits in it'.
Kebab's - need I comment?
People who you only here about at Christmas when they have a new album out.
Bands or artists who issue a Greatest Hits album, then 6 months later a 'best of' and then a further 6 months a 'singles collection'
Sending texts, twitter and facebook - not my thing

Probably lots more, but I feel much better now! :goodvibes

Twilight ( havent seen the films or read the books and have no desire to)
Big brother
I'm a celebrity get me out of here
Harry Potter
Miley Cyrus

Facebook - I'm the only person I know who is not on it apart from my friend's fiance. Ditto MySpace, Twitter. I hate the way people are obsessed with it, constantly checking on their phones etc to see if someone has updated their status and the way people can "fall out" on facebook. It sounds extreme but I feel like it is sucking the life out of people!

WAG's - What is so great about spending someone elses money and your "job" being to get your hair and nails done, shop all day, and have someone else look after your kids. What's wrong with studying hard, making your own money and raising the children you have yourself? I would hate being so dependent on my husband and having my "role" be so limited - don't get why people worship them.

Hair Extensions - Why not just grow your own hair? I have thick, waist length hair that I take care of really well, can curl it, straighten it, wear it up, down, do loads of things with it and yet my Auntie thinks I should have mine done like Cheryl Cole. So, basically she thinks I should cut my healthy hair off, then have the hair of a small chinese child glued to my hair instead and then spend thousands of pounds a year having it blowdryed everyday so it doesn't look like a racoon. Sorry, what?! Also, people ask me how much I pay for my extensions and then refuse to believe me when I tell them I don't have extensions! Its like they think its impossible to grow your hair and ask why I don't have split ends? Ummmm, because I look after it and get it trimmed, duh! Also, there is just something I find creepy about having someone elses hair attached to your head...

Graham Norton - what the heck is so great about him? Why is he on EVERYTHING???

Russell Brand - See above + I hate the fact that people think he typifies my generation. I don't like him acting like he speaks for everyone in their late teens/20's/30's when he gives his opinions etc and I just think he is a huge Johnny Depp wannabee or something.

Sushi

Thai Food - I LOVE food, I come from two cultures where food is pretty much the centre of life. I am used to my spices, herbs and an exotic diet but I am sorry, I just do not get Thai food. Its too complicated, I just do not get the whole hot, sweet, sour, creamy thing going on and sticky rice. STICKY? RICE?

Ugg Boots - as I am writing this I am wearing some Ugg Snowboots so its a bit hypocritical I know but I do not get the traditional ones and why they are so popular at all. Also,I really hate the cardy ones! Ugg-ly.

Girls shaving half their head or part of their head like Cassie Ventura and Amelle from the Sugababes. They both had beautiful hair before. I mean I know Rihanna looks cool but seriously how is that going to work out long term? My side fringe is taking ages to grow out! Can you imagine trying to grow out half a bald head?

Drum and Bass. Nuff said.

20-something men these days! :rotfl: Its complicated but I just want to say, there is nothing wrong with being a gentleman! Be kind. Be polite. Don't binge drink. Mind you, the same could be said for a lot of girls my age!

Right, rant over!

Harry Potter
Twitter
Jonathan Ross
Crocs
Getting wasted/drunk
Big Brother (all forms)
I'm a Celebrity & most reality shows

I'm sure I will be able to add to this later:rotfl2:

new phone thing, why? i can call and text, thats all i need!
playing on line on the wii- shouting at the tv wont help!
jewellery, why so much..? why where 15 chains and 10 bracelets, its not neccasary, less is more!
racism, why do people think its ok to say things , because its a "joke?". its not- ok?
rant over tracy

Ohmigosh, how did I forget tattoos?

When I was young only old sailors or convicts had tattoos. The only women who had them were gypsies. Now I am a saddo because I don't have any. I have to hide the fact that I hate them.
