...Some of you have been generous in return and I really appreciate it! There have been many donations of toasters and coffee makers as well as a few, much appreciate, personal gifts. So, thanks to all, let's keep it going-am I seeing Sept. 09 in my future???

How cool is that! I surprised DD a few years back (wow, it was more like 3 1/2-Yikes, Jan. 05) I didn't tell her until a few weeks before. That was as long as I could hold it in. And then the only reason I didn't tell her sooner as we booked that trip last minute and din't know ourselves. Your kids are going to be so surprised!

I hope our bigger fridge is still with us. Aug 9 to the 10th is the last time it's going in storage for awhile-til at least Sept. 11th (my turn). Since I'll be worried that something may have happened could you let me know as soon as you can that everything went ok? Also, if there's anything on the fridge that makes ours stand out (or you could bring something). And if there are any other names, etc. on the fridge they need to be removed to save confusion, and one last thing, have a GREAT TIME!

It's been hard keeping it a secret, since I booked the trip at the beginning of the year! DH slipped last night talking to a neighbor, but the kids didn't overhear.

I haven't even told the neighbors cuz I don't want them slipping and telling the kids. I just tell everyone we are going camping. Tomorrow night DH is taking the kids out for a few hours so I can pack the car and hide our camping gear, LOL.

I will be packing our coffee maker and Mickey toaster.

I wrote in my notes that it's a bigger fridge with LGMHs and your SN on it, is that right? Or was that the old fridge?

Is our current fridge in a box? If not, is there any chance, Melanie, that since you're driving down, you would have room in the vehicle to take a box (opened flat)? You wouldn't have to actually pack the fridge as you'll be handing it off in person - just pass the box along (we always store empty boxes opened flat along the wall in the closet area)

I think that after Melanie picks up the fridge, it doesn't go back to storage until after my visit, right? I've created several storage labels on my computer, using advice from Pop Century's luggage services CMs, that I'll add to the box to try and minimized the chance that it will get misplaced or misdirected. I'll also be adding a package of Clorox wipes, a roll of packing tape, a number of blank labels and a marker.

Gotta do my part to keep this going! With any luck, I might get to take advantage of the fridge again next year!!!

Melanie, I'm pretty sure the fridge that was in the box with LGMH on it is long gone. I'm not certain if the latest fridge has a box or not. Not sure how the last swapper put it into storage - hopefully she put your name, arrival date and reservation on it. Was she going to get a claim check number for you? I'll be on pins and needles until we hear that you have successfully retrieved our fridge from storage.

If we do need a box, I have another idea. If one of the next couple of swappers can take measurements, I can send the Senseo down in a box large enough and strong enough to store the fridge in.

Good morning Swappers!

I've just sent a PM to plutos fan since she was the one who first got the larger fridge to see if there was a box inc. I know the previous one didn't have a box.

I also asked one of the swappers after her to put my personal info on box and add something to make it easier to spot. I can't remember who it was and I don't know what was added (if anything). Maybe they'll read this and let me know? (I must have deleted the PM in a cleaning frenzy! ) It was either mellgonzales or rvikes1.

DisneyDeeva, other than full name ressie #, and check-in date did the CM tell you anything else to put on box?

And yes, as far as I know once we make it through to tomorrow (Sun. the 10th) we won't be putting it in storage until after you.

rumrunnergirl-are you leaving the toaster and coffee pot with the fridge? If so, TIA !

ADDED-I also sent PMs to mellgonzales and rvikes1 asking about the fridge. Box, extras, etc. I'll post here as soon as I hear something.

The labels I have made up are very graphic intensive - big and bold. They say things like:

Notice: This refrigerator is the property of Pop's L&G Fridge Swap! (it has a Pop Century grapic in the background)

and

Attention
The next person to receive this refrigerator is:
(with a blank area for the previous swapper to complete)

and

WARNING
If you are not participating in Pop's L&G Fridge Swap, you have the wrong box. Please return me to Luggage Services!

I was particularly worried about doing something like this because, as of right now, there is a huge gap after me. So, I called Pop and spoke directly with a supervisor at Luggage Services. She was well aware of the issues of missing fridges and said that, unless it's easy to identify, they often don't have time to read small labels and fine print during busy times.

All it takes is for one swapper to get the wrong box and things start toppling like dominos. So, the best thing you can do is mark the box clearly on all sides and make sure the person after you knows what to look for...better yet, they would have a picture of what the box looks like and/or a claim ticket.

I don't know if the fridge has a box. I'm waiting to hear back from either plutos fan or mellgonzales. As soon as I know I'll post it here. Hopefully it'll be before you leave.

That's fine about the toaster and coffee pot, I just wanted to know for sure since I couldn't tell from your post and didn't want to say we had them if you were taking them home.

I do plan on adding a toaster during my stay 9-1 to 9-11 along with DisneyDeeva's Senseo coffee maker.

I heard from plutos fan and the fridge does have a box and when she left it it had no stickers, or anything to distingush it from other boxes.

The fridge was in a box, it was just a plain white fridge with no stickers, names etc on it.

It had 2 wire shelves, a half size freezer, holders in the door for bottles.

I'm still pretty sure mellgonzales or rvikes1 was going to add my name on the box (If unclaimed please contact Terri B...... at 951/xxx-xxxx). So that should be on it as well.

rumrunnergirl, if for some reason you don't get the same fridge, do as plutos fan did and speak to a supervisor. She told him maybe they had given out our fridge by accident and did they have one in back that hadn't been picked up yet. They did, and he gave it to her. So, never give up and let us know as soon as you can how it went. If you won't be online while there, I guess we'll have to wait 'til you get home. (around the 14th).

ADDED-I hope you saw this before you left. Otherwise you'll be looking for a fridge w/o a box. But at least it'll have your name and info on it.

Possible slot opening soon-in Sept.

Unfortunately I haven't had any contact with the swapper after me who currently has 9/11 to 9/19. I have given her until Wed. night to respond and if I don't hear back then I will be looking to fill that slot.

If you are interested here's how it's going to work:
1. I will start a waiting list-first come first served based on time and date stamp-send me a PM or reply here.
2. You must be able to do an in-person swap with me on the a.m. of the 11th. We have 11:50 a.m. ADRS and want to exchange it before that. If needed, I can exchange it a little later. After our lunch but before we leave for MCO. We will be leaving WDW area at around 1 p.m.
3. You must do an in-person swap with dplcarden on the 17th. (I'll have time info on this soon)
4. The swapper I decide on will have to meet both #2 and #3, to join in. So, if your dates overlap by a day or so, even better. If they don't fill the entire slot, then I won't be able to accept you.

I will post here if things change between now and Wed.

This is the 2nd time in as many weeks that I've had to possibly replace someone who has failed to respond. As I am leaving in 3 weeks, I really don't have time to do this.

EDITTED-I forget that dlpcarden wants it on the 17th if we get a new swapper.

Can you tell that I'm obsessed with making sure to do my part to keep this swap moving along successfully? I'm on a couple of threads organizing meets during my trip. And, when you posted that there might be an opening, I just popped over to those threads to see if anyone had dates that met the criteria. Viola! Glad to hear that she might be interested in filling our gap

I think it was a really good idea to put specific requirements down in writing for this last minute substitution so there can't be any misunderstandings. I've already made arrangements with the swapper before me and I've exchanged PMs with the swapper currently slated to get the fridge after me.

No coupons yet but those things can take a couple weeks because they generally go through a clearing house.

BTW - have you heard from rumrunnergirl? Do we know if the fridge made it safely through two days of storage and into her hands? I kept checking yesterday because I was really worried about getting through this last storage stint before my turn comes. It's selfish, I know - but I want that bigger fridge
