Popping the question....

Since everyone on the board has offered their opinions about where you should propose, why can't I? Since you want to make it private at the WL I suggest that you consider the Water Parade. It comes around every nite; with a bottle of champagne you can toast to solitude of sitting on the beach over by the marina. You can propose at anytime, at your convenience. I know that you won't be able to see the fireworks display because my family and I go every year. What a disappointment that we can't see it! Of course, if you go out of the main entrance, past the valet, down to the road you might be able to get a glimpse of some light display. Our dd was disappointed.

Congrats on the big event! Just to let you know that our friends had their dd wedding at the Disney Pavillion. It was a fantastic time. Everyone enjoyed so we hope that you will too.

Don't forget about mosquito repellant if you propose outside at WL--nothing says I love you like a bunch of bug bites. :hyper:

Take a walk along the beach at GF or the Poly just before the WISHES fireworks. While the fireworks show goes on, pop the question!

I 2nd the Fireworks Cruise Proposal! That would be really romantic...and you could ask the driver to head over to the waters of WL just before the fireworks!

If the WL lodge is very special to you there are some hidden places in and around the lodge.

1. - there is that balcony over looking the pool courtyard. I forget if its on the 4th or 5th floor. Disney has weddings on it as it over looks the lake, guiser and pool. It's not that well known and its usally quiet there.
2. The upper balcony overlooking the front of the lodge. The scene is not that special. However it is very private and not many people know of it. I think, think it views the MK. Funny I have been there so many times and cant remember now.
3. The fire place above the entrance, it has a nice couch and it usually private. My wife and I often go and sit there for privacy as our kids run around the place or swim.

Dont be afraid to ask Disney for help. Here also is an option. You can do it in your room on the room balcony over looking the MK when the MK fireworks go off in the evening. All you would have to do is call the Lodge and find the right person to talk to and tell them what you are planning and how you need a room to propose in that over looks the MK for fireworks. Disney usually is very helpful with this sort of thing.

One last option that I myself would consider- eat up in the california grill on top of the MK and time it for when the MK fireworks go off. Again, either call or talk to the Manager and explain to them what you are doing and how important a table with a view would be for you.

I feel your original idea is the best. A nice quiet proposal by the lake, at a resort the both of you like,
with just the 2 of you. Very intimate - very romantic. Sorry I can't answer your question though. Your plan sounds devine. The less people involved the less stressful for you. Go with your instinct.

I suggest booking an evening cruise on the "Grand One" It goes out of the marina at the Grand Floridian Resort. Hey, If you are williing to put up the money for it, it's definately worth it. Good Luck!!!

haha I was checking out the boards and see this one is still going! I am so nervous between buying a ring (wow these things are expensive), to talking to her father, to planning a 9 night trip to the WL, to the big moment.. its alot to deal with for the next month. anyway thank you sooo much for the ideas and encouragement, i love hearing them and I love this board! the electrical parade is a great idea. I was actually thinking about a late night trip to the boat dock or the balcony patio area where people get married is great too. I always had an image of it happening near the water somehow though.. maybe the WL beach will be it.. the walk around the lagoon during wishes is soo tempting too I just wanted the WL to be part of it. Well maybe if we get room 5032 like I requested I can do it during wishes afterall right from MY balcony..

ok forget fireworks that wont be an option if its at the WL. can any WL/FW experts tell me if theres any nice sitting spots along the water between the 2 resorts? I know there is a jogging path there. one of the overhead views of the bay lake area would be great right now..

Just go down to the beach, near the childrens playground. It's very quiet there, even in the middle of the day when the pool is crowded. There are beach chair, too. ::yes::

I am the lucky DGF who this post is about! The propsal was perfect. My df (disney fiancee') found a peivate path at the WL where we watched wishes. During the firesworks, much to my surprise, he got down on one knee and propsed. I am so happy he took the time to make the moment perfect and special. I will never forget it!!! :hug:
