Listening to Drive by Incubus. I LOVE this song and have heard it a million times, but for whatever reason it struck a chord with me tonight. Just thought I would share that bit of randomness.

I needed a DIS/music break. Ryan and I had a hard night. He was acting like a punk. I am over it now, but I needed to step away into my little distraction.

Tomorrow we are going to Art in the Park with my Mom and I know she and I are also going to do a girls shopping day either Sunday or Monday. My Step Dad agreed to watch Ry for the day! :yay: We usually start the day getting lunch and a drink (the adult kind) and then blow way too much money. It's wonderful!

Well, I guess Congrats Michelle. Its after 5am so u are in the hospital and the baby will be here in no time!!!:cool1:
Good Saturday Morning to the rest! I am headed to the rummage sale and craft show today!

Hi GANG,

I'm offically home. Just walked in the door. I have the post trip disney blues. Its already been a long day. We left Pop century at 6am this morning. All of us have been awake since 4am. I am beat. I fianlly got to ride everest 3x, that ride rocks. I will post some pics as soon as i upload my pics. The trip was great, but what disney vacation isn't??

Welcome home PJ! Can't wait to hear how the surprise went!

Tia - Yea, Mike's not liking my idea too much....I may find myself driving the girls & I to DL while he golfs!

Michelle!!!!!!!!!!!! Roman must be here by now!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi gang,
I took a nap. I still feel exhausted! Well i go back to work tomorrow, vacation is over.

So we spent 9 days at disney, we arrived last friday at 11am, after a 2 hour flight delay. We stayed in room 5146 in the 60's secetion. We walked into pop and there was no one in line at check in at all. So we checked in and grabbed a bite to eat in the food court. Then off to the Magic kingdom. Just about everything was walk on or had less then 20 minute waits, we had a Adr at tonys for 6pm. We were seated right away. We had a blast, although the parks seemed to be a little crowded we never waited for a ride longer then 20 minutes in the stand bye lines.

The haunted mansion refurb was awesome and i really love the up dates a lot. Ds tried Splash mountain for the first time, he did not like it at all And swore never to try it again. He insisted on riding Dinosaur at Ak and i really thoguth he would not like taht either, but we ended up riding it like 5x in a row, he loved it alot. So i finally got a chance to ride everest for the first time, Ds stayed with my father and mother in law and went to "its a bug's life" while me and dw rode it. I have to say it rocks. We ended up riding it 3x in a row.

There were lots of heavy quick down pours that we seemd to miss by luck, one was so bad while we were on a bus, that the bus driver actually pulled the bus over and stopped it due to the fact that he could not see at all from the buckets of rain. We also tried the monsters Laugh floor for the first time and one of the monsters asked a joke " what has 2 heads but only one hat" next thing i know DS and DW are up on the T.V. as my ds was sitting on dw's lap and he had a hat on. That made his day and he never stopped talking about it.

We did Mnsshp on thursday oct 4th, had a blast as always and ds ended up leaving with 4 bags filled to the top with candy. We also rode nemo at the living seas for the first time, which we all loved. Ds never seemed to want to go into the pool, so we never got a chance to go swimming this trip.

As for some magic, for me just being there in magic so i was fine, but on oct 5th at the T.T.A. it was Ds's birthday and he had a birth day pin on. Mike at the T.T.A. gave us 3 fast passes to any ride in the M.K. as a birthday gift. We ended up using it for Buzz light year, which had been down for about an hour and once reopened the wait was over 40 minutes.

****As for The not so magical*****

Not us of course, but why don't people plan????????????? I mean just a little, perhaps knowing the park hours is a little helper. We got to Mnsshp at 6:30 pm, while wating for dw in the bathroom we watched a family continue to verbally fight and yell at 3 different Cm's. At one point Disney security and one police officer arrived, to try to calm the situation down. I let my ears wonder a little and heard the whole story. It goes like this.
This family was staying off site at a hotel 60 minutes away. I almost sure they did not know this until after they arrived at there hotel. Anyway they had 2 kids around 6 and 9 and they just arrived in florida and saw that the Mk was open until mid night. They arrived only to find out that the Mk was only open for Mnsshp and the family felt cheated and refused to buy the Mnsshp tickets on top of the tickets they just bought at the TTC. The mother keep saying i'm never comming here again, we bought tickets and now they say we need more tickets, you people are money hungry.

The poor kids were crying so bad, i felt so bad. Why don't people plan at all?? I mean she was aware of the Mnsshp, cause both kids were dressed up, the family just was not aware it required a nother ticket. I mean you most likely just spent well over a grand with hotels, airfare, food and all the other things that come with vacations. Why not just spend the extra few bucks and just buy the ticket??? So, instead draw a line in the sand and refuse to cross it, make a huge scene outside the makic kingdom and make both your kids cry and you and your husband threaten and verbaly abuse disney staff, until the police are called??? Is it me???????Well They showed disney, they were escorted off property via very private boat to the TTC with police.

DID DMM Have her baby yet??????

Soon as i find the camera i will post pics, but don't count on anything until tomorrow if not monday.

As for telling ds, He ended up falling to sleep on thursday the day befroe we left. Finally at about 6 pm, he wonder into our room were me and ds were packing and asked what were were doing. So we told him packing. He asked for what and i we said for disneyworld. He spent the next 20 minutes running thru the house, he really makes me giggle that kid.

Welcome home PJ! I am glad you had such a wonderful time. We would have been close to neighbors if we were there at the same time.
Isn't it funny what kids will love and hate? Ry LOVES Splash Mountain but we hate Dinosaur. Go figure right?
The store about the family at the MK made me laugh and be sad all at the same time. I feel really bad for the kids. But I totally agree with what you were saying about people not planning. I can't imagine paying all that money on a trip and not have one clue about anything that pertained to that trip. Those poor kids must be so embarassed.

Chris - If you do go to DL I hope you have a great time. It is so flipping expensive though. I would almost rather go back to WDW. Although, I do think I want to plan a quickie trip to get my Disney fix!

Michelle - The baby must be here by now! CONGRATS!!!!

hey guys - well mom made it thru the surgery. They ended up doing mitral valve replacement and one bypass. When I left the hospital last night she was still asleep and on the machines. I'm hoping when I get there today she's at least off the vent.

Glad to hear that.

I'm not sure when we'll be going back - it's been really hard for Casey to catch up this time. Missing 4 days of school was probably not the best parenting decision I've ever made. I need to look at the high school calendar again......

Relax. Missing 4 days of school is not that long. I missed more than that in HS and was fine. Teachers just throw a fit because its more work for them, but family time is important.

Hope everyone else is doing well :) I got an e-mail this morning b/c a small internet teen magazine that is trying to go main stream asked me to submit a couple pieces of jewelry for an upcming issue :faint: I thought it was a bit odd at first, but when I asked around the shop forums, this place is on the up and up and 2 of us were asked and given real addresses and stuff to a company to send stuff for the right up. It's a bit nerve wracking!

What's the magazine???

:hug:chris

:wave2: nicole... tia... lori

sorry my cell is not connecting with network :( now dising with dsis cell she got the broadband thingie... no sightings for nanu n pj yet... nonestop rain F&W booth closed due to rain... no good white wines yet... ok time to get moving!

Timmy---I was so bummed we couldn't get together!!! It was like there was a huge delay in the texts, and then I wasn't getting them. We're you getting mine?

Rebecca, how is being a SAHM treating you??
It was really nice being at WDW and not having to stress about the workload piling up at work. Hopefully the house will be the same as we left it. We'll be going back in a few hours.

Danny is having trouble as well. His teacher told him he needs to 'stop going to WDW in September' - as if HE is booking the trip, making the decisions.

:rotfl: I agree. I hate how teachers try to place blame on kids when its parents decisions. AND, September is much better than say, May or June when final exams are happening. Missing the 2nd or 3rd week of school is not a big deal. I'm sure he'll be able to catch up just fine in a few more days.

Look at me...I'm so teacher-hating today. (btw for any lurkers...I hold 3 teaching certificates.)

Michelle--Check in with baby news as soon as you can!

Morning all ! I finally got some relaxation time last night...went to a friends & scrapped for 6 hours....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...I guess I didn't realize just how exhausting this whole thing was. We talked a little bit more about spring break....we'd like to go with the same families we went with last year....unfortunately, the one family - I'm pretty sure I told you guys this...my friends dh had a bipolar/manic episode soon after we got back and was inpatient at a psych facility...anyway, we're pretty sure they won't be able to go...but the other 2 families (us & them) would still like to go...would that be bad? I mean we'll ask our friends if they're interested...but if they say no...we can still put it together doncha think? We'd really like to find a house to rent near the beach...& drive to DL, DCA, SD Zoo, & the other california attractions....I know the drive would be long....but the dh's aren't too big on switching hotels or houses once we get there. Is that even doable?

Mom is doing better....it's sure a slow trek though...she was able to shower & put on her own jammies yesterday. (& Cat- she's at Gottlieb). We're all going to the hospital today to visit. I just hope she can go home soon. I'm not sure what her home care schedule is going to be like, but I'm sure I'll have to go in to the city a few times a week at least.

Michelle - Roman has probably been here ONE WHOLE DAY!!!!! Update us when you can!

Yes, it's do-able - however SD Zoo is nice but not THAT nice. We ended up leaving when we went. Brookfield Zoo is so nice, I think we're spoiled.

Tijuana, Mexico is fun though!! Even with the kids - shopping down there is FUN!!!! :yay: Maybe if you dont switch hotels, but pay for a night in a local SD hotel in addition to :yay: your Anaheim one, you could get a couple days in SD (Tiajuana!!! :yay: )

I love, love, love California.

What's kinda cool about California is the time change is in our favor. Where as bouncing out of bed early in Florida is losing an hour's sleep -you'll be able to pop outta bed at 5am in California and get on the road to SD by 6!!! Quite nice! We were early everywhere - before opening.

Universal Studio's in CA is something worth seeing. Not made up movie sets, but real ones. It fun!

As is KNotts Berry Farm which is super close to DL. Within 10-15 minutes. :)

I looooove California!!! :cloud9:

The beach is close to DL too - liiiike maybe 20 minutes, tops.

And San Diego - whether you go to the zoo or not, is a REALLY adorable town. The little historic district has wonderful little shops, and boutiques.

AND go to "Hollywood" - see the REAL Chinese Theater, shop on Rodeo drive in Beverly Hills! Its super dooper FUNNNN! And the mall thats close to Rodeo Drive is fabulous too! And it's got a Hard Rock Cafe connected. Super nice.

Buy yourself one of those "Star's Home's Maps!" We totally drove from house to house... I have pics of Marilyn Monroes house, Lucille Ball's House... ahhhh!Good times!!!

I LOVE CALIFORNIA!!!! :dance3:

Thanks for all those tips Cat !!!! Yea I had heard SD Zoo wasn't all thst....BUT we don't have Pandas at Brookfield...Casey loves pandas soooo much it's worthe the admission price if that's all we do!

Now that the passport laws have changed I bet we need passports to go into Mexico though right? I've been to Tijuana before (of course I was on my way to S. Padre Island at 20)...but I don't really think I want to shell out the cash for 4 passports kwim?

I love the stars home idea...that would be fun!

I'm still working on it....if the other family goes too...we;ll probably try to rent a beach house somewhere.....

I'm here...but so sleepy. DH worked yesterday from 8:30am to 9:30pm, then at 10:30 got a phone call from work and talked to them for half an hour, and came back in to DD's room (still trying to get her to sleep) and said he had to go back into work. He got home at 2:30. He left at 8:30 again. I'm so tired...but I imagine he feels even worse.

Ive turned into one of those wacky dog people.

Yes - Im buying him treats from "The Happy Dog BARKery" and dressing him up.

I ordered his Halloween outfit - a Mickey Costume... and he has a raincoat - again Mickey.

But check out his 'casual wear' :lmao:

Geez - I didnt even think about the passprt thing. That blows. It was such a fun day, Tiajuana was!!!

The stars homes IS fun. And the maps they sell are truly easy to follow - like from house to hosue to house.

I was there during the OJ trial. We were actually staying closer to San Diego and the day we had planned on Disneyland was verdict day! We figured if it came back GUILTY we were Disneylanding it - and heading straight back to San Diego. If it came back NOT GUILTY - then we were safe to go along with the L.A. game plan. We TOTALLY were worried about riots.

It was funny - even Chip (Chip and Dale) as my ex husband listened to his headphones for the verdict came up to my ex like this: :confused3 Everyone wanted to know. Everyone was asking him.

So - when it came back NOT guilty (which is ridiculous, but Ill save that for another thread!!!!;) ) We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel a few nights - and saw alllllll of L.A. And being the tourist I am - I have pics of O.J's house.... and Nicole's - WITH police tape, no kidding.

And a pic of the cop guarding OJ's house... my son sat on his motorcycle with him, and I took a pic. :rotfl:

And honestly - the tours they have (like Graveline - goes to all the deceased Hollywood stars homes and landmarks were they died) are REALLY good. I used to do those with my mom. Theyre a REALLY good time. :thumbsup2 They even have one for Tiajuana - I wonder if you'd still need passports on a tour? I dunno....

You are totally TOTALLY making me wanna go to California!!!!!

Check this out: http://www.starlinetours.com/

We did tours a LOT when I was a kid - theyre really quite good and fun.

And we'd go to California when the White Sox would be playing the Angels - so we'd go root on the Sox, in the Anaheim Stadium. WHICH, is super close to Disneyland.... like minutes away. You can see DL from the stadium and the Sox stay in a hotel across the street from the park.

Yup, you need passports now! When I was younger we would hop across the border on a weekly basis. Now it's not that easy. You will need passports for sure. Personally I would skip it because they are darn expensive for a day trip. PLUS if you need anything from a border town, let me know!
We loved the SD zoo. The pandas are amazing. Your daughter would flip out. Knotts Berry is a lot of fun as is Universal. Southern Cali has a million things to do. You will never be bored. Broke maybe, but not bored! ;) My hubby dislikes California, but I think it is a blast. I could not handle living in LA but I love to visit. Renting a house between San Diego and LA may be your best bet. That way the drive won't be horrible. Just make sure you have a good map and a good navigator! It is easy to get turned around.
You could also look at going over to Catalina Island. It is a wonderful day trip (you could even do 2 days). The ferry ride is nice and the island is so beautiful. Lots of great little shops and cafes. They don't allow cars there (well a very limited number) but you can rent a golf cart and tour around Avalon. They also have bus tours that take you to other parts of the island.
Anyway.... now that I have gone on and on.

We are headed up to the mountains today. Going to enjoy some cooler weather.

Cat - Your dog looks ADORABLE! I can't believe you are one of "those" owners though!  Just teasing... it's very sweet. I would like to do stuff like that too, but Terry would have a mini fit.

Thanks for all those tips Cat !!!! Yea I had heard SD Zoo wasn't all thst....BUT we don't have Pandas at Brookfield...Casey loves pandas soooo much it's worthe the admission price if that's all we do!

YES! Im one of 'those' people now. :lmao:

I forgot about Catalina Island. It IS a gorgeous island. Mr Wrigley's (i.e. Field, Gum, etc) house is there. Its prettttty!

I didnt know you live by a border town, Tia! I looooved shopping in Tiajuana!!! :yay:

Our last trip - we stayed between LA and SD, like Tia suggested. In Oceanside/Carlsbad. Nice town. :)

And while looking at the map I remembered San Juan Capastrano. :cloud9:

I FREAKING LOVE CALIFORNIA!!!!
