niece or nephew we accompany them when they go to the rest room... there were an incident before that a lil girl went to the rest room in the library and the grandmother just waited in the library by the books... waited and waited and by the time she got tocheck the ladies room the girl was d3ad..... so never that we let them go by themselves....

Timmy - no WAY! I don't let my girls go by themselves in many places, but the library IS one of the places I let them go alone. now I'm totally spooked

Tequila and Salt

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could
read it every day. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone even if they don't like you.
5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. You are special and unique.
8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.
9. When you make the biggest mistake ever something good comes from it.
10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.
11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

And always remember....when life hands you lemons, ask for tequila and Salt.

I don't know Ants, some of those seem a little questionable. Like why would I hate someone I want to be just like?

On the bathroom thing...I'm a bad person. I let our school-age students use the boys bathroom by themselves last year. I had them go in groups of 3 and each of us were posted at the entrances/exits. This was at the local minor minor minor league baseball game. They were really minor. Its where the kids who just graduated from college go because they already missed most of the regular season.

Hey Tia ~

Question....do you take your son into the restroom with you?

I did - I have no qualms about admitting it. It made me extremely nervous not to.

Im just wondering - there's a red-hot thread about it now.

:rotfl: Funny you should mention it. I have been posting on there for the past day or two. I read your comments and told those jerks to back off because you are a GREAT person and a wonderful Mom!
I used to take Ryan with me everywhere I went. But within the past year or so he is tooooo embarassed to go anywhere near the Barbie aisle, let alone into a women's resroom with me. So I no longer take him in, UNLESS we are someplace totally scary. But I try to avoid those places whenever I can. ;)
Ry and I worked out a system. I ask him what he has to do in there (if you get my drift) so I know about how long he should be gone. And he races back to me (after washing his hands of course). My theory is this: While I do shelter him from some things, I am also realistic with the knowledge that bad things can happen anywhere, at any time. So I have taught him how to react if someone acts a little wacky and makes him uncomfortable. Am I nervous for him? Of course. But I also know that he is at risk if he is right by my side or not. So I just do the best I can and continue to plug along with the hope I have taught him well. That's all we can do as parents right?

Chris BEAUTIFUL pics!!!!

Timmy LOVE the little poem. Especially the end! :rotfl:

i'm back everyone :) got to hear the babies heart beat! it was so wonderful :) so i'm in a good mood :) I'm waiting on a call from my dad, who is still waiting for his doc to clear some time at the hospital...soo everyone is just waiting :)

Michelle!!!! Where are you?!?!? I need cooking help. So I just got around to putting the pot roast in the crock pot...which means on high it won't be ready until 7:30 ( a little late). Can I speed up this process a little? Like put it in the oven for a bit and then move it back? Or maybe just put it in the oven now and forget the crock pot?

haha sorry i missed the emergency! but i see you got some great advice! Check out the cooking thread over on the Community Board, it's got it's own board and there is even a sticky FULL of delish recipes for SLOW COOKERS!!! it's awesome!!!

Alright, i've got a lot of orders to get done and out tomorrow and i've been putting it off :) hahah! i just have to wrap them up and address them, but that seems to be the worst!

Scary! :guilty:

I would just rather someone be 'embarrassed' (which I think is ridiculous, IMO) then have something as horrible as that happen.

When I would hang out at the Library with the boys in the summer (when I was a STAY AT HOME MOM, which I MISS!!!!) there was a a couple undesirables. They wont kick 'bums' out of the library and they'd hang there cuz it was super hot outside.

Danny too, was about Ryan's age when he stopped... but geez, I have no idea how these people can be so embarrassed. I apologize if anyone here is, but I cant say I understand it.... I dont. And like I said, ANY peeping kid would tick me off. IMO, its not the sex of the kid.

Aww Tia!

They closed it before I got to answer. Dang!

I dont understand why I have to 'see both sides' I know both sides, I dont agree... why do I have to tip-toe about it?

I think that's why Im not very popular 'round these parts. :confused3

*sigh* Oh well. :rotfl:

I probably should've waited until tomorrow so I had more time...but we'll see!

I just asked michelle because of her recipes extraordinaire earlier...but I guess everyone else cooks better than me!:goodvibes

Not me!!!! I do as little cooking as possible... tonight... take out at the fish place... shrimp/scallops/chicken and onion rings! But, I took out a frozen chicken pot pie for tomorrow night!

I hope everyone had a great day. I dropped off the taxes, so we shall see how that goes! This is the first accountant that I have used (for two years now) that doesn't do them with you there. Oh well.

So, now you have peaked my interest about the thread that is getting heated. CAT, please don't get into trouble!!!! I will have to go visit!

So, my mom got admitted to the hospital today with pnemonia. They said she will be in for a couple of days. She was severely dehydrated and was hallucinating. So, my dad took her into Emergency at 6:30 this morning... I got a call from him telling me this at about quarter to seven this evening. I got to the hospital by 7:15 and she hadn't been put a room yet. So, I went to the gift shop then to Emergency and at that time she was in transit... so I got to see her for a few minutes while they were taking her info. Hopefully she is getting some sleep now.

My DH just told me he ordered HBO today, and we have it!!!! Yippie Sopranos!!!!! :woohoo:

Sunjaya is safe.

Bottom three = Gina, Hailey, and Phil
