Hey all -

nanu - yep you could either do it like Tia said, or put it in the oven first for a bit...

I forgot to answer...but I'm in for whatever swap thingy you guys are talking about~:rotfl:

Okay, here's my cooking decisions...

I had already seasoned it so I seared it on all sides, well 4 of them. I think it has more than 4 sides. Yeah, 6.

Okay, then I put it in the oven at 325 in a coral dish with some low sodium beef broth, red peppers, this red thing cut up (i think its an onion) and some cut up potatoes. I'll let you know how it turns out! I feel like such a blonde!:rotfl:

You are so cute.
You might want to do a search on the net for slow cooker recipes! I LOVE using a slow cooker. You also can look in the aisle at the grocery store that has those packages of gravy mixes and stuff (you know what I am talking about?) Well there are a few selections to choose from for slow cookers. You dump the seasoning packet and meat into the crock pot and call it a day. Their BBQ Pork is by far some of the yummiest pork I have EVER tasted!
And yes, sounds like a red onion. Just make sure it isn't getting dried out. Cooking roasts in the oven is fine, but I find they tend to dry out much faster than in the crock pot. Just make sure the liquid is in there the entire time!

I probably should've waited until tomorrow so I had more time...but we'll see!

I just asked michelle because of her recipes extraordinaire earlier...but I guess everyone else cooks better than me!:goodvibes

No, I don't. I just do because I have to. And I learn tricks along the way. To be honest, watching the Food Network has helped a lot. It's little things you can do that make your job in the kitchen sooooo much easier!

PATSFAN—Just homeschool her! Go for a month! (During free dining of course) I tried to explain the math to DH, and how its like Disney paying US to stay there.

Oh, so DH applied for this job awhile ago (October) and he turned it down because the pay w/benefits would've been exactly equal. So yesterday he checks his email and the guy emailed him again and said they'd still want him and restructured things so they improved benefits and pay! Isn't that crazy! DH doesn't know what to do. He's all loyal and stuff.

I agree - homeschool her!!! :thumbsup2

And i have mixed feelings on loyality. Ive been super loyal to companies and got it up the butt...so Im more of a "do whats right for yourself" person, at this point. I myself, and too many people I know have been ...ahem....*'d in the *, for being loyal. So...help him follow his gut.

Michelle!!!! Where are you?!?!? I need cooking help. So I just got around to putting the pot roast in the crock pot...which means on high it won't be ready until 7:30 ( a little late). Can I speed up this process a little? Like put it in the oven for a bit and then move it back? Or maybe just put it in the oven now and forget the crock pot?

We know how to cook too, y'know!!!! :guilty:

I know you asked for Michelle, but.....
How big is the roast? You may want to sear the roast first. Get a skillet pretty hot with some oil in it. Make sure the roast is seasoned and then cook it on all sides for a bit. This will not only get the cooking process started, but it will help to lock in some of the flavor.
OR you could cute the roast up into smaller pieces. It would probably cook faster and be done before 7:30!

She beat me too it.... :guilty:

I'd sear it....either way, let us know how it turns out.

Nope your eyes are just fine...of course I think our minds must be CRAZY to continue to live here!

YES it is snowing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just looked outside

BLAH

no snow here :( jsut rain lotsa rain buckets and buckets of rain.... BTW am at work now/still...

My favorite part of the cooking process was the mysterious red thing1.

If Colleen doesnt wanna be the whiner, Ill be the whiner.... my head hurts. My head hurts and Im crazy, ridiculously dizzy. I HATE THIS WEATHER! These extreme changes are f'n me all up. :sad2:

If I bend over, Ill fall over.... YUCK!

I feel like poop and wanna go HOME!

What’s that?

.

at around 9:30Pm some peeps decide to just shot one another (just my theory) and next thing we know we had 7 gu **** wound at the EMR and 3 techs was needed to be pulled out their regular bench to process blood and call red cross for more which left me 3 bench. Luckily when I got in today all 7 survive... 4 are in step down now and 3 are still in CCU:sad2:

So today I got Alex ready and we just barely made it to the 10am toddler story time at the library. Then we went into work to deliver some balloons to one of the teachers for her birthday. I was planning on working this afternoon, but since the numbers were so low in DDs class, I just grabbed her emergency lunch (one of those shelf stable microwave round things) and she stayed there until 1 while I did my work. Then we went home for nap and I spent the whole time on the net catching up. I wasn't on at all since monday. So when DD got up I let her watch Diego because we always miss it. While she was doing that I made dinner. Then I set her up to fingerpaint and cleaned the kitchen somewhat. Still need to sweep. Then we went for a walk on her trike, but it was too cold and windy. Now we are doing sesame street on the computer. It seems like I hardly got anything done!

Okay, in honor of Patsfan I added my weightloss ticker. I'm hoping to reach goal by my birthday (July 15). I'd actually like to be 120...but I'm going for a more realistic goal this time.

AND that ticker is moving too am jealous..

Hey Tia ~

Question....do you take your son into the restroom with you?

I did - I have no qualms about admitting it. It made me extremely nervous not to.

Im just wondering - there's a red-hot thread about it now.

Ok I dont have a son... but when I have Christopher my nephew and he is 8 now I take him with me... so far we have been lucky that the ladies room might have 1 or 2 and not a field of women so he still feel Ok about it not "uneasy" he goes in the cubie and I wait at the door... and the women in the bathroom so far had not question me yet....

niece or nephew we accompany them when they go to the rest room... there were an incident before that a lil girl went to the rest room in the library and the grandmother just waited in the library by the books... waited and waited and by the time she got tocheck the ladies room the girl was d3ad..... so never that we let them go by themselves....
