good morning everyone! Margaritas of any kind sound fabulous!! hahaha :) Good news: Saturday i find out what the baby is!!

GREAT NEWS: MY dad has his breathing tubes out and he looks so much better and not as scary.

Now the bad news...

If you remember the start of all this was last week wednesday, my father was having his procedure done and I was at the hospital with my kids b/c DH had mentioned to his boss that he would help him out in the AM, but my dad was in surgery and he wanted to be there, so that he could watch the kids and my DH knew i would need him by my side, in case something happened.

All good no problem...well DH stays for the AM to do all the stuff and is ready to head to the hospital.......

they say no b/c they are short staffed....DH insists he has to go...they say no...it gets heated and escalated...If he goes DH will lose his job....DH goes......

My DH lost his job that day. I'm pg with baby #3 and my dad is sick and my dh is unemployed. My BFF was in New Jersey on vacay and i couldn't get a hold of her. I felt like i was dying inside.

Thursday comes and DH begins his job search as I have the children with me. He gets tons of interviews and lots of good words and even 3 SECOND interviews. Then friday i needed him at the hospital, so we took a break and looked over our finances and we knew we were fine for about 6 months. So that was good, but still hard. I knew i could find a job in a heartbeat, but at the same time, who would hire a woman that needed maternty leave so soon??

THe weekend was great fun, but also the bad still hung in the air, KWIM? We tried not to let it bother us as our children needed us and my little unborn baby needed me the most and on top of all that, I am my fathers rock and i needed to be there for him and NOT have him worry about us.

Well lo and behold my NOT so Darling SIS tells my dad! :furious: DOES HE NEED THIS?!?!!? grr....he is quick to offer everything he has and of course doesnt' believe that we have prepared for such cause in our emergency fund and if worse came to worse came to worse, we hit up the college fund and as our first back up, i knew we had a lot of money in Disney for our cruise that we had to postpone.

anyways...monday comes and DH stays home and i leave for the hospital...
DH calls me and tells me i have to head home right away...I get home and DH leaves..(never says why) he comes back from 4th interview at the FIRST place he went to on Thursday and he has a job! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?! the first place he went to?!

This job is RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM OUR HOUSE! my husband goes from driving 3hrs round trip to WALKING TO WORK?!? and it's WAYYYY more $$$ than he was making before!!!

The Lord lifted a burden on us that i knew would be weighing on me for so long!

THEN yesterday they call my husband AGAIN! he leaves the hospital and goes in and they have given him a job that is NOT in the warehouse managing as he is used to! they think from his experience, they will put him in a HIGHER postition! :faint: I cried tears of joy for my father and my husband yesterday.

I am so happy and so filled with emotion, it's amazing what faith can do for us. When i was so upset that all this bad would fall on us all at once, it turns out that even better was just around the corner. I have a husband fully employed in a better job than we could ever ask for and my father is getting better!

I'm sorry this is so long and babbly, but i'm happy and I can't believe it.

THanks friends for helping me get through this.

I'm leaving for the hospital at 830 and DH may join me for a bit later. His new job wants him to spend time with his family as they know about our situation with my father and he doesn't start until next wednesday. :goodvibes:

Is it bad to say that my husband actually lost his job at a good time?? Otherwise i would have had to watch 2 kids ina hospital all alone and worry about my dad at the same time. Now their routine is not too mixed up.

Have a good day POPpers!

Timmy, how fab that you get to go again! I would love to steal away, but it looks like my mini trip is going to be a little weekend in July to Vegas with my mother! I just want to see a couple shows at night and VEG by the pool during the day and visit the spa in the afternoons!! So we're staying at Mandalay Bay (my fave) and I have to figure out how much air fare is going to be.

ooo Chris, i am in desperate need for a hair cut (i'm in that pull it up and off my neck stage). Have fun!!

MIch - WOW that's a whole lotta emotions in a few days! I"m so glad it worked out so soon! Sal's a good guy..I'm glad it someone "happened" at the right time. I'd glad your dad is better today as well.

I know its corny, but there's always a "reason" for the crud...we may not know the reason...we may never actually find out the reason while we're here, but I truly believe there's a reason. :wizard:

Have a good day - hopefully you'll be back home tonight before the storms roll through here.....

Good Morning!

Michelle- Wow! I'm so glad everything worked out!:grouphug: When one door closes another door opens. That's great your dad is doing well.

Glad your dad is doing well. Glad he is out and recovering. Now, YOU take care of YOURSELF and your BABY!!!!!

Timmy- I AM JEALOUS!!!!! Got room for a stow away?????:lmao: I'll buy the margarita maker and bring it down!!!!:thumbsup2

I found the most life saving product of my diet today..... CARB FREE/SUGAR FREE Margarita MIX!!!!! Sure, it is EXPENSIVE, but if it tastes good, it will be worth every penny! And, usually I buy the Jose Quervo premade margaritas to make frozens at home.... but I had bought a bottle of the GOOD STUFF tequilla, the Cabo Wabo, so now I get to use it!!!!!:hippie: I can't WAIT to try it!!!!!:woohoo:

Oooohhh I wanna know where you got that mix from too ! It sounds too good to be true !

You'll have to tell us what the baby is as soon as you find out - I can't wait.

I'm so glad Sal was able to find another job so quickly. What a range of emotions in a few short days ! Good for you

I'm leaving for the hospital at 830 and DH may join me for a bit later. His new job wants him to spend time with his family as they know about our situation with my father and he doesn't start until next wednesday. :goodvibes:

Nope - not bad to say at all !!

You should try TheHotel at Mandalay Bay. I am spoiled rotten now - it's the only place I like to stay ! It's like a piece of heaven !

I think I am getting sick. I am all sore and have a headache. This is not a good time for me to be sick! blech.

Yes, send it to ME!!!! Sounds like it was wonderful!!!!! I wonder how many carbs???? If not many, I would LOVE to make this!!!!!
/QUOTE]

Its simple...chicken breast cut into strips...in a bowl put mix one can of cream of onion, one can of cream of chicken and one can of diet pepsi. Add some seasonings to kick it up a notch. Then pour it over the chicken and bake at 350 for like 50 minutes. I'd try a higher temp and shorter time next time though.

Oh, by the way, Rebecca, I got most of my Pampered Chef stuff today! One item was back ordered, but everything else looks great! :thumbsup2

Thanks!!!

Rebecca, share some more yummy things you cook!!! I've stayed away from the kitchen recently and i can tell how much it is affecting the kids! Sal goes for easy stuff like mac & cheese and such right now, since i am just in no mood to cook after being at the hospital all day. Then there has been ALOT of fast food :sad2: So i've got to get us back on track next week.

Here's my trick: I google "easy chicken recipes" and then pick the first one that comes up that I have most of the ingredients for.

me and dsis went halfway and decided to take mom to WDW..

 Would you call yourself impulsive? I like your math...go to WDW to SAVE money.

good morning everyone! Margaritas of any kind sound fabulous!! hahaha :) Good news: Saturday i find out what the baby is!!

Michele...your story brought tears!!! That is so amazing! I told DH about it. I started with the beginning and how romantic and devoted it was, and he said it was stupid...which means he wouldn't have done the same thing:sad1: , so I was glad to tell him how it wasn't stupid since God has plans of his own. Thanks for sharing. I was also impressed with how you have enough to last for 6 months!!! We have like enough for 1 month, and that's with cashing out one of DH's life insurance policy's that have matured.

I've been so busy getting ready for preschool graduation tomorrow. I'm so nervous...and just realized: I have nothing to wear!!! We have the graduation, and then we feed everyone!!! So I've been preparing to feed 60 plus people.:headache:

Nighty night everyone - i think I am off to bed. I have a wedding to shoot this weekd for Dan's family ( oh the joys !) so I probably won't be back until Sunday night although I hope I will get to Pop on here or there ( no pun intended !)

Good morning everyone!

Michelle: I am SO happy that your story had a great ending! Ok, so, I know you guys are really romantic, and lead the perfect life, that I am so JEALOUS of.... but tell us what you really thought when he came to the hospital with the news.... (See, I am NOT the perfect wife like you must be....) I would have punched him ;) (I can kind of see what you were feeling. Rob got laid off when I was three months pregnant with Sean.) He didn't have a real job for MONTHS though! And... we didn't have any savings! The only money we had was because I had lost my engagement ring four or five months earlier, and I hadn't found another one that I wanted yet, so we had the insurance money. I will say, that God did have a hand in when the announcement was made of the lay off though.... because that weekend we were supposed to be going to NYC to buy the new diamond! Even now that he has a job, we are still PAYING for that time "off". He tried to start his own business and the business has debt we are still paying.... and when he did take a normal job, it is at a payrate at $20K less than he was making 7 years ago! :scared1:

OK, sorry for my rant.... I realize it was a romantic, chivalrous (sp) thing to do, and he's a GREAT stand up guy... I still would have punched him though! ;) :rotfl2: [I hope you get my sense of humor]

Lori, good luck shooting the wedding! :bride: :thumbsup2

Tink- are you all set for your Nov. trip? Has the ADR booking time come yet???? I am thinking I should just BOOK IT!!!!

Tia- I still have to go to your myspace!!!! UGH!

Timmy!!!!! I don't know if this is the thread you talked about the postcards... but I am going to PM you an address.... My dad's birthday is 7/7 and I would love for him to get a postcard from Disney!!!! YOU ARE THE AWESOME-IST!!! PLEASE let me know if there is anything I can send to you! (I am really bad at getting stuff in the mail.... but I definately would bring it to you in September ;)) I don't know what I could get that you would want.... I am thinking that Boston Baked Beans isn't on the top of the list!!!! ;)

Oh, and everyone... I didn't try the mixer yet, but it is called bajabobs... and it says they have a website bajabobs.com I haven't visited the site yet, but they did have a million different mixers depending upon what you like to drink!

Happy Mid-Day everyone ! I got a chance to Pop on and say Hi today !! Hope everyone has a good weekend !

Morning all.
We are getting ready for swimming lessons, but I wanted to stop by and say hello.
I am still feeling icky. Not as bad as last night, but no where near 100%. I have too much stuff to do to be sick.
Anyway, I hope you guys have a great day.

Colleen - I have not made the slideshow yet. No worries you aren't missing anything. ;)

Hello everyone, i'm home and eshausted a looong day yesterday at the hospital into today, but my dad is standing!! i cried when he got up! i've been helping him a lot and my husband has been working miracles here at the house watching our crazy children! but i can see the newfound respect he has for what i do on a daily basis. He even asked me "how do you do this all day every day??"

back to my dad:
He is having his chest tubes out tomorrow, but still getting blood, since he lost soo much from the surgery and he continues to still be losing some, but they say it's not too bad of a thing right now. he started eating a popsicle today and he said it felt good on his throat. I feel like a bad person for leaving when i did, since it's only 4, but i was exhausted and Sal had to go into work for a couple hours to meet some more people.
