Be grateful he's not a girl. My g/f's daughter is a hundred times worse with her mood swings. But that being said....

YES!!! THEYRE HORRIBLE! One minute theyre laughing, the next minute, theyre pissy. Theyre loads of fun!!! It's a mystery every day which child you will get! Fun son, evil son, PIA son, silly son, dont-care son, attitude son, mom-is-satan son, I love life son, Im better, smarter, cooler and stronger than everyone in this family son, I cant wait until Im 18 cuz Im outta here son, I love you guys son! Think of it as a 'grab bag' of emotions!

My 15 y/o sounds like your son - started early with his moods. And Im happy to report, he is STILL going strong. YAY! :yay: I love not knowing WHAT to expect or WHEN for that matter.... good times, good times. Its tapering off, but it's been a joy. Just a poor joy.

The 11 y/o isnt as bad. BUT he is a "Mama's Boy" and I can still guilt him into submission....so far.

Good luck to you Tia. In between normalness, theyre a freaking nightmare. :sad2:

So, I rubbed the last dab of paper sample I had on me today. It was the last of a magazine insert. DANG THIS STUFF SMELLS GOOD! Im so ticked at the sales women. WTH is wrong with them? I think they keep them, hoard them and sell them: http://health-beauty.search.ebay.com/juicy-couture_Health-Beauty_W0QQsacatZ26395

:rotfl: Too funny. I am lucky Ryan is overall a sweet and loving kid. But boy let me tell you, there are times when I am SURE he is all his father's kid! ;) Thanks for the hope though Cat! :rotfl2: Makes me feel better! :teeth:
I know what you mean about E-Bay and the samples galore. I looked at buying perfume on E-Bay but most of it was samples or used bottles! I don't get it.

I was a horrible preteen and teenager,i had mood swings large verbal fights with both my parents, at 16 it was the worst in one day alone i put my fist thru my dads living room wall and later a taxi cab window. When i hit 18 it seemed to calm down alot. Good luck!!
I KNEW I could count on you all to be my beacons of hope! :lmao: Thanks PJ. I guess I should start a savings account for "Items broken and/or smashed through by Ryan's fist!" ;)

Chris, One of these days I wanna party with you. I think it would be a RIOT!
I still do not have my bottle for the wine swap. It'll come. And I promsie it will get there soon. ONE thing I want to mention, do NOT tell the post office you are shipping alcohol. In fact I don'[t think you can ship liquids. So... make something up. My Mom tried and they told her she had to take it out of the box.
I did some shopping yesterday and I bought the wrong size frames. So... I measured what I need framed and it is an odd size so I am thinking I might have to get custom frames which I NOT going to happen because I have a feeling it will be crazy expensive. I hate it when a plan doesn't come together. So now I am stuck. I guess I will go price custom frames and see how much that is going to cost us. Grrrr... and I have 4 of them to do. So we'll see!
I think Ry and I will go back next year, but I am not sure if I want to go during free dining or in the beginning of December. The savings on free dining is just too good to pass up. So we'll see.
Ok, I have a lazy day today! YEAH! So I will check back in later. Have a good morning all! :wave2:

You know one time, when I was pregnant with DD I had an ultrasound appointment. I was running late (of course). I have a habit of getting my keys out of my purse before I leave a building, so I'm not fumbling for them. So as I go to leave afterwards I can't find them. I look through my purse, I look under the diagnostic table, we look around the room, I check the bathroom. They're no where! Finally I go outside to see if maybe I left them on the seat. Nope not on the seat...wait a second...Not only had I locked my keys in the car, I locked them with the car running!!!

AAA bailed me out.

hello peeps.... any sightings of Santa today ??? :goodvibes

Hi all,
So i'm beat!! I was supposed to have friday thru monday off, which i did. However i got a call friday night and was asked if i wanted a little bit of a change,it seems the fire house closest to my house need a few men to do overtime. It seems that most of thier guys are out hurt, nothing major but there was a big job over here and they got banged up real good. They will all be ok,but they needed some guys to work there and cover the station. This is on overtime and i could use the extra cash, plus i got to call a few friends up and they agreed they would come down and work with me and the fire house is 4 blocks from my house. So this am me and three friends show up for the overtime,Its really quiet around noon we get a run, this is a true story.

We roll on scene and are called to a house for a female 19 "acting very strange" as per the 911 caller. Its a 3 story private house and we are going to the top floor. We get there and the girl is not making any sense at all,her family tell us she is a "good college girl" and i start to wonder. However the "eyes" don't lie and there is no edvience of drugs or drinking. The father tells me his wife has been plague with a bad headache and vomiting over the stress of her daughter "acting out". They tell me it all started last night on a friday. We are in the hallway and the 2nd floor neighbor tells me he saw her in the hallway late last night vomiting and she passed out for a moment. The next door neighbor tells me he has such a headache,i look at bobby i guy i'm working with and he is really having a hard time catching his breath after the 3 story walk up,bobby has some issues with his lungs after the sept 11 trade center collapse, but never did i see him lose his breath so much than today. I start to think i have 2 people in the 3rd floor apt with 1 with headches and vomiting and one that is acting strange and that i know was vomiting last night, i have some guy on the 2nd floor with a headache and one of my guys can't catch his breath.Quickly it hits me i have a major problem here,i know that drugs or drinking is not the problem with the 19 year old girl and there are only one other thing that causes all these people to get sick so quickly.I run to my rig, which is not my normal rig since i'm at a fire house that is not mine on overtime.

I am looking for a little device that will tell me if i have bigger problems here than it appears, all my training tells me i have a major job here, something that you can't see or taste or smell, something that has been known to kill whole familys in thier house as they all slept in bed. There it is, i find it in the rig, nope no fancy computer just something the size of a huge beeper or pager.I walk into the front door and hallway,by the time i hit the second floor i see bobby and he tells me he really can't catch cacth his breath so well, but is ok.On the second floor is where my worst fears come very true and my little device begins to go nuts. Its alarm is going off and i am sure its not a malfuction, but the real thing. This Building is like a toxic time bomb, its infested with carbon monoxide. CO2 is odorless, tasteless and you can't see it,but somehow the buildings boiler is malfuctioning throwing off huge amount of this poision in the air and with the freezing weather everyone who lives in the building has all thier doors and windows tightly shut,so the stuff is trapped and building up.I have a reading of 400 parts per million which will kill a bird in 2 hours flat(for some reason birds are really sensitve to the stuff and will die quicker than a human and thats why in the old days submarines always have at least one or two birds on board, before detecters)BTw 400 parts is very high.

Reason why the young girl had such advanced symptons is because her "boyfriend: lived in the basement where the boiler is and spent the whole day with him yesterday in the basement, so the good news about 16 people ended up going to the hospital from the 3rd,2nd,1st floors and basement apts.Everyone will be ok,bobby had small traces of co2 in his blood strem but will be fine and refused to go to the hospital,i keep an eye on him and within minutes of being in the fresh air outside felt better and only had a minor headache which 2 asaprin helped,i checked his blood-co2 levels every 30 mins and within 2 hours he had none in his blood. Our chief gave the super of the building a $300 summons for failure to have co2 alarms in the building, which is nyc law.I know sounds mean but had this happened at night they would have went to sleep and died,so maybe the summons will force the owner to put the co2 alarm in and will save a life or 2 next time.Today everyone will live in this buliding, however the young girl and her boyfriend had very advanced late stages of co2 poisioning, they both will be fine. The chief said he was gonna put the whole crew in for a medal, but i told him it was not really necessary.

So thats the story, now your wondering why was it so important to read this mrFDNY???I hope you figured it out already, but if you did not.GO AND BUY,NOW not tomorrow or later co2 meters for your house and if you already have them make sure the battires are good for the winter, 95% of co2 poisionings happen in the winter. CO2 is odorless, tasteless and you can't see it at all,by the time you have symptons you already have been poisioned and have amounts in your blood that are too high. One of the symptons is sleepyness, imagine you always go to bed at 11pm and its 10:30 pm and you start to feel very tired, but you been running around all day,you know the kids shopping, making dinner, clleaning the house and so on ,so you go to bed 30 minutes early never to wake again as well as your family.

Ok everyone, I am getting a little worried about the SS packages. When you mail yours out AND when you receive yours, could you please PM me to let me know that all is well.
I am really worried that many of the people who signed up on the original list have not posted in awhile, and may not be sending theirs out.
So.... if I do not hear from people within the next day or two, I will start PMing everyone. IF you signed up and your partner flaked out, do not worry. I will mail you out a gift! It totally would not be fair to those who are actively participating to not get something in return.
Anyway, that's my rant. Thanks for listening!

PJ!
You are such a good guy to have around! Our little hero! :goodvibes I mean that sincerely! Thank goodness you were called in that night. You never know, the regular team might not have caught it! See, everything happens for a reason right?
You just gave them a VERY Merry Christmas present!
I will buy my CO2 detectors tomorrow. I know you said NOW, but tomorrow will have to be soon enough. :p

Hi guys!!

Well the whole going away for a quick trip next week is a dead issue.Btw thank you everyone for all your ideas. We actually were looking at stowe vermont but its a 6 hour drive and ds has school friday and monday,so we would have to leave friday at 3 pm which means we would not get there until 9 or 10pm just to go to sleep then have all day saturday and i would want to leave by 3pm on sunday for the 6 hour drive home.which means we would only really have a full day and a half there.Maybe another time we will go somewhere, maybe even a quick trip to wdw in 2007(i hope!)

Morning all!!!

Im a little jealous I didnt partake in the Secret Santa exchange - but I'm just not repsonsible enough to do so. PLUS one year I got shafted on another board.... So I was being selfish. :rolleyes1

Im excited to hear what you guys get!!! Make sure you post it - with pics too, if possible!!! :thumbsup2

What a weekend! Theyre never ever long enough, are they???

What a crazy weekend! Went to Woodfield Mall with my mom - GEESH where do all those people live?????? I can hoestly say I have never seen so many people in one place! btw, I asked the nice saleslady for a sample of JC for you CR & SHE SPRAYED A PIECE OF PAPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH I was like "Oh ok, that's pretty" hmmm I wonder if I would like it....nothin nada stingy lady

I did get the girls completely done! Casey - Miss, I'm 12 1/2, and OH SO MOODY - Aeropostle, American Eagle, Hollister, and Bath & Bods works stuff (she's also a fragrance hound!) and a Starbucks gift card. For Miss Grace a bunch o crap, I mean stuff, a kids video camera, soda pop kids, hit the jackpot at the Disney store - they had a whole half wall of Jasmine stuff!!!! There was the cutest coat...no size large or XL - so I couldn't get that. They also had the coolest sparkly eeyore jacket...but it was $75! a bit too steep. Maybe after Christmas....

I went to the PO on Saturday - yikes - that was a mistake! But my SS & wine swap packages are mailed !

MrFDNY - thanks for the reminder....how awesome that you were able to put the pieces together for those people. We have one co detector on the lower level...I always meant to buy one for upstairs and the other part of the house....which I did yesterday after reading your post before I left for shopping. I'm putting them all in today. THANK YOU

This is the girls' last full week of school before xmas break...so I have soooo much to do! I need to wrap their gifts ! SO for this week my entire schedule is: get up, get the girls to school, go to the gym, come home shower, wrap till I pick them up!!!!
