Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges

this is the one ride I'd like to see in IOA - Would it be ok for DS4 who is quite sensitive??!! (He'll be fine if its just water and he can see where he's going - but won't like the feeling of being out of control - does it get too bumpy and disorientating???)

Thanks alot:thumbsup2

The Barges are my very favorite ride of this type. Lots of fun, longer than a lot of water rides, and a good place to get soaked.

One year I was in Orlando with my then 5yo son, my sister, and our elderly mother, who was 81yo at the time. It was her first trip to Orlando and we spend a couple days at Universal. Before we went on the Barges we gave her one of those disposable ponchos to wear. She asked if it would keep her dry and we assured her that it would. :rolleyes1 Of course she got wet somewhat that first time, and even wet the second time (it wasn't busy and we got to keep riding without getting off). We ended up going 5 times in a row. It was my mother's favorite ride in all of the parks, including WDW (could be because an older worker was flirting with her ;) ). Loads of fun!

It's not too rough. There are only 1 or 2 bumpy parts. He'll have so much fun getting soaked and even more fun seeing everyone else getting soaked that he probably won't notice. It's not disorienting at all.

We were up to our knees in water at some points. It's probably the wettest you can get without actually jumping in the water !
Terrific fun but make sure it's a hot day and don't do it near the end of the day as you'll have to travel back in sopping wet clothes!
