Popcorn Buckets

:teeth:This thread makes me so happy. I too am a member of Disney Popcorn Addicts club. I eat it for breakfast!

Does the bucket hold more popcorn than the smaller size sold? I had read that in the parks, they hold the same volume, and although they wouldn't refill the bucket (In the parks) you could buy a small and pour it into your old bucket.
We have plenty of popcorn containers at home, and wouldn't want a Disney specific bucket just to have, but if you end up saving a bit of money on the refill on the ship, I am there. We love fresh popped so much at our house, my DH purchased for me a Movie theater size popper last year!

after all the threads about packing conservatively, packing only what you need, packing to save space: you want to pack a popcorn bucket?

Sure - clean it out nicely, stuff underwear, socks, etc, in there - I do it with beach toys or other things when I travel.

Case in point - took my son's golf clubs to FL. Stuck it in a duffle bag, then stuffed his golf bag with his pj's, underwear, socks, etc. And I mean stuffed! LOL

The bucket and the paper cartons are the same size as the parks. When we sailed in 2014 we paid for the bucket and then a $1 plus tax to refill it. It seems to be the same price now so I'm not bothering to bring ours back.

I don't remember fresh popcorn on the Magic when we did our first cruise but we loved the stuff on the Fantasy.

Can anyone confirm if the Wonder has the fresh popcorn available?

Thanks.

Yes, they had it on the Wonder last August. We would send my son down when a movie was starting to get us some and bring it back to the room. We loved eating it on the verandah, watching the beautiful scenery go by. We were on deck 8 aft, 3 flights up from the movie theater. The smell would come drifting up the stairwell and we couldn't resist popcorn::

Thanks! We are deck 5 right above theater for our Alaska cruise this summer. We will definitely be getting some popcorn!

I was just at MK on Tuesday and they now offer refills on the bucket. It's $10 for the bucket, and I think refills were $3.50

image.jpeg This is the bucket I got on the Magic in the Med last year. Sorry it's not a better photo. Heading back on the Magic in August, going to bring it with us and try for a refill! Fingers crossed!!!

We just got off of the Norwegian Fjords cruise last Wednesday. They often served left over popcorn that was totally stale.

I finally figured out that if I saw popcorn, but didn't smell it, it was old.

Disney should be ashamed of selling old, stale popcorn to its customers.

I would have returned it. Kindly, I mean, and said, this isn't any good, i don't want to eat it, please provide me a new batch or a credit. I can't imagine any reasonable CM not helping you out.

That sounds unusual. You can usually watch the popcorn 'popping' from the pan at the top so it's normally as fresh as you can get, fresher than an actual movie theatre anyway....
And I've seen them scooping the unsold pop corn into trash bags when clearing up. Disney are very hot on food handling.

Yeah, I agree.

The fresh popcorn is one of the highlights of my day. This was the first cruise I had been on where the popcorn wasn't always fresh.
