Pop Warner Week

Is pop warner week really as bad as I've heard or are all the complaints over blown?

Will the park crowds be bad? How about events like MVMCP and the Candlelight Processional? How will they be effected?

We are staying at either the GF or the AKL so I'm not that worried about noise at night.

The main thing is the early closing of DHS for the private event. On that day, DHS won't be very crowded.

MVMCP is usually sold out so not really affected by Pop Warner - a finite number of tickets are sold for the hard ticket parties.

It does add to the groups but much less than the invasion from Brazil. Allstars Sports will be loud but otherwise just a bunch of good kids enjoying the world.

We're been there several times during Pop Warner week and have never had a huge problem. If you're not staying where they stay, that part won't affect you. There will occasionally be a group of cheerleaders in the park who want to subject everyone to their cheering (i.e., screaming, mostly), but that's hit or miss and isn't much to worry about. They're so busy with their events that they affect the crowd levels very little. And I've never seen a group of cheerleaders at the Candlelight Processional, which is always crowded, regardless.

I was there this past year - and really - it wasn't a big deal at all. We were staying at Pop. I think concerns about Pop Warner are over-hyped. Sure - I'm sure there's occasionally a loud group and they irritate some folks. But - really - sometimes its a tour group, sometimes its a crowd of drunk folks, sometimes it's a large family reunion - all these things could happen any time of the year.

We went one year and it really didn't affect our trip at all. There was only one night in Epcot that was CRAZY, there were too many cheerleaders in the park just stopping in the middle of the walk way to cheer or in lines... but what made it even worse was that it seemed that every single chaperone, parent, family member that came with the groups decided to hit Epcot on the same night.

I was there last year and in past years, not a problem (stayed at Boardwalk). I saw Candlelight Processional a couple times that week, didn't see any youth groups. I was going to go to MVMCP on Tuesday night but waited too long to buy tickets (day before) and it was sold out.

Well that explains that. I was there Pop Warner week last year too. Thought that the MVMCP was pretty crowded that Tuesday.
