Pop Warner Question.

I know that Pop Warner overflows into the Moderate resorts. Does anyone know which one it will be this year?

Usually it's the Port Orleans resorts - mostly Riverside because of it's size, but a few years ago they were also at POFQ.

When is Pop Warner Week?

Pop Warner week is usually the first week in Dec. Do a search, you'll find many threads on this topic! We were at POFQ last year Dec. 5-11- Pop's exact dates. There were some cheerleaders staying there, but I think more were at POR. The only time we noticed them was at the food court one night when we came home from the parks and getting on a bus one morning. That was it. When you check in, just ask to be placed away from them. We didn't ask, but we weren't near their rooms to my knowledge. Others reported having problems at POFQ, but my guess is they were closer to their rooms.

According to the Pop Warner website, it's Dec. 4-10, 2005. A bunch of cheerleaders and football players, plus their chaperones/parents. Most stay at the value resorts with some overflow to the moderates, but from what I read they were short on rooms last year (many Pop Warner folks had to stay offsite after reserving onsite through their organization) and have more blocked this year. I would expect more overflow at the moderates.

I'm sure most are well-behaved, but I've read some posts where the pools were taken over, lack of supervision, nonstop cheering in public areas/outside rooms in the early AM and at night, not to mention on the Disney bus system. I'm sure most were isolated incidents, but it made me wary of booking that week so we're going the week before.

I'm not bashing the people who attend - but some of the stories did worry me.

what is pop warner?

Pop Warner Youth Football & Cheerleading. The national championships of youth football are played at WWOS each December. Teams from across the country, in 4 different age groups and three different club sizes are there. Also the National cheerleading championships are held at the same time.

Proud to say that my club has had a football team there each of the last two years, unfortunately losing in the championship final each time.

The cheerleaders are unusually perky and they run around in packs. If they see another cheer team, they will joust by cheering back and forth at one another. It can get very loud and very annoying.
