Pop Warner - Nightmare???

I wouldn't worry.. I'll probably be spending the first three days or so of my stay with them in ASMo.

To be honest, I'm more curious than anything.

I'm only 20, however, with no children, so I can't imagine I'll even notice them that much (I'll only be at the hotel to sleep! And I can generally sleep through anything!).

We have been to WDW the last 3 years the first week in December and never had any trouble. We will be back again this year the first week in December and we are staying at POFQ.

Haha, not trying to bring you down, but I'll be anxious to hear if you slept through dozens of teenage girls practicing their "cheers" (what I like to refer to as organized yelling and screaming) at 6AM outside of your door...

I'm puzzled how Disney sanctions that. If my family decided to go out in front of guest rooms during sleeping times and practiced our "cheers", I bet Disney security would speak to us and demand we stop - I don't get why the rules are different where groups are doing so in an "organized" fashion. If they wanna practice, give them a place that isn't next to sleeping guests.

I'm more worried about my BF! He's far more likely to get woken by it (poor thing).

I'm intending to be up at about 6am some days anyway (and they'll only be there for the first 3 nights or so of my stay). In fact, I'd be glad if it was them who woke me rather than the alarm clock (can't STAND the sound of an alarm clock!).

If they cause me any aggro though I will immediately be complaining!
Surely people complain all the time? What happens if you complain?
And I agree - I don't really understand how Disney allow the cheering to take place at that time of day.

I'll have to do a trip report when I get back just to let everyone know how I coped when sharing my hotel with the cheerleaders during Pop Warner

Well--from the many threads I've read over the years about this very subject, the short answer seems to be: Nothing.
These groups are big $$$ to Disney and there is no way they are going to risk "upsetting" them by telling them to be quiet at 6:00 AM. Or 2:00 AM for that matter.
They might agree to move you, but that's about it.
I really hope your report is a good one and you won't be impacted.
THis is one reason why from now on now, when we book a motel/hotel on any trip, I will always inquire if there are any "groups" "teams" etc scheduled for the time we want. IF there are, that motel is OFF the list.

PM me and I'll relate an experience we just had at a Best Western in Charlottesville VA.and the University of Va. football team. Somewhat of the same issue (noise , boom boxes blaring, etc) We complained, got just empty looks from the management. Us with one room, vs the U Va football squad with 97 rooms. No contest.

Early December has been my favorite time to go to WDW, and has been for many years. Trust me - you won't even notice them in the parks at all!
That said, I have stayed at POR many times, always in the A/B section. I NEVER noticed them anywhere around the rooms, but they tend to crowd the food court in the morning. Last year I had such a wonderful experience with them. I had a late breakfast in the food court. Way over in the corner, there was a group of about 25 young girls practicing their cheers. They all looked so squeaky clean, and their enthusiasm was wonderful.
I felt like they entertained me. I vacation solo, while DH stays home, so it was great to have entertainment over breakfast. The only negative thing was that the resort hot tub was always too crowded to enjoy it. Don't worry, it will be fine.

It was 7am for us last year. We stayed at POP Century 12/4 - 12/11. Fortunately, we were up early everyday to take advantage of early entry so the cheering didn't bother us much. I felt the resorts and parks were much more crowded than when we were there 7 years before though. In 1997 we would just walk right on all the rides, no waiting. Last year we had wait times of up to 60 minutes for Rockin Roller Coaster, Test Track and Space Mountain. I am definitely not complaining though. I had a great time and the kids were very amusing.
