GO SHREWSBURY COLONIALS!!!!!!! ;)
Good luck Shrewsbury :cheer2: . I hope his pop warner team sent in the paperwork for the NFL sponsorship. That will at least help cut the cost. A friend of mine has a son in the finals also and somebody from their league "dropped the ball" and if they make it to Disney, the money is going to have to come out of the parents pocket ~ ouch.

Gee, I have no idea. From what I understood it is coming out of the parents pocket. I'll have to look into whether they did that.

Thanks!

My friend mentioned that the amount was to be about $500 per player. Because her son's league did not process the paperwork in time, she'd have to either pay that or get a business sponsor. In addition, she said that the Disney package was $385 (which she was expecting to pay for anyway). Officially it's called the NFL Youth Fund Travel Grant.

Shrewsbury lost their last game so there is no Disney in December. It looked like we would win with 3 TDs in the first 5 minutes, but Conneticut came back and pounced us. One of the star players in Shrewsbury broke his collarbone the day before the game (his dad playing football with him tackled him and broke it, the coach was fuming). Anyhow, now my dillemma is over and I can enjoy my vacation in January!! :)

Just my 2 cents...we were @ AS Mo this Feb during twirl & cheerleading competitions; since Pres. Day fell that weekend; the resort was busting @ it's seams. Pools were full all hours of day & night.

Yes, the girls were exuberant, loud & traveled in large packs w/o a chaperone in sight. My main gripe was how the food court became a lounge area...not eating, just sitting. Food got cold before we could get a table. Asked several times if they were done eating; told they were just chillin. Chaperones, please remind your charges to not monopolize seating if there's lots of folks in line behind you...common courtesy.

One other thought, I know the girls sometimes compete in costumes that are somewhat suggestive/racy. While appropriate for meets/performing, not exactly street attire or appropriate for the dining areas...I'd suggest @ least a T-shirt coverup...no sense in tempting a pervert.

We saw more girls (with chaperones)in the parks @ Universal - extremely well-behaved charming, young ladies.

Sorry for your son, I'm sure he's disappointed, but it sounds like it will work out better for your family trip. My friends son lost their final game on Friday night 0-6. I hope your son is proud of how far his team got. That's not an easy accomplishment. Good luck to them in the future.
