AGHHH!! I thought they were just at the All Stars!! We were booked at POFQ and switched to CBR with the discount... Will I regret it??

Why do you think they're at CBR? Like you, I purposely just booked CBR to avoid the Pop Warner issue. If I'm going to encounter the Pop Warner group regardless, I think I'd rather save $35 a night and book a value.

The biggest groups will monopolize the values. There will be groups though that go with their families for family vacations and will be at every resort including mods and deluxes.

Last year, a lot of the groups had to stay offsite which was a logistical nightmare for the kids, getting them back and forth to games, practice, etc. This year, Pop Warner said that they would not allow this to happen. So, they have blocked off a lot of overflow rooms. I read this all on their message board before it was shut down.

I am at POR and I am sure there will be PW kids there, but I am not too worried. They are away from the resort most of the day. Food court will be swamped in the morning and at night and so will the pool, but I have a feeling all the resorts will be booked solid that week anyway, so I don't think it will matter where you stay, it's going to be crowded.

Could someone please tell me what is Pop Warner and when is it?? Thanks!

Pop Warner is a national organization that deals with little league football as well as cheering competitions. There will be hundreds of kids at Disney from December 3-10. Most of them have games and competitions throughout the day at Disney's Wide World of Sports. Sometimes, you don't even know they are there. Sometimes, they are everywhere especially at the resorts. They can be loud and obnoxious, afterall they are kids. Sometimes the parents can be just as bad however. (No offense to anyone in particular, there are always some that make a group look bad.) I heard a couple of groups got kicked out last year, hopefully Disney and Pop Warner will have a better grip on things this year.

You can look at their website just by searching Pop Warner.

I guess I'm not too worried either.. I mean, Disney is Disney!

But I am bummed that it sounds like the resorts are packed solid!! I scheduled for this week because friends had said they go every year the first week in December and that it's practically walk on's for everything. (Plus, we went last year Nov 3-10th and seeing the lights going up, and not getting to see them lit was just too much to take!)

I just hope the lines aren't tooooo long.. We got spoiled last year, with several "just walk on" days and a couple 15-20 minute waits!! :cloud9:

I'm thinking that the parks will not be corwded much at all.....

Think about it, if so many rooms are out to Pop Warner, and they are practicing/competing most of the time, who's left in the parks???? :confused3

I'm at CBR also (think we corresponded on this before), and my TA said that as far as she knew, Pop were at the Values, POR, a small group at POFQ, and some overflow to CSR -- but didn't see anyone at CBR :confused3

Guess we'll find out when we get there. No use worrying about it, my airline tixs are already paid for, DH has a conference in DTD that he's going to for 3 days, and we're bringing my parents. We'll have a whole week to visit the parks :cool1:
