We have never stayed at All Star Music. We have stayed at All Star Movies and Sports. We have also stayed at Pop but it has been 10 years since then.

I'm debating on Music this year vs Pop. Music is $107 cheaper for the length of stay we are planning this fall.

Pros and cons for each site? Which would you pick and why?

Thanks for any help offered!

I've stayed at both and liked them equally. Saving money is always good.
I'm thinking that the Movies was fairly recently renovated but I could be wrong. Also, I believe that Movies has family rooms where as Pop doesn't.
To me, your good with either one.

We stayed at POP for the first time in Dec. and were pleasantly surprised. One reason to choose it is that it has its own buses, rather than shared buses at the All Stars. We very rarely waited for a bus going to the parks or back at nt.

We've stayed at both. I liked Music, but I love Pop. Hourglass lake is so peaceful. It feels like a moderate, plus it's so quick to walk over to AofA to eat or take the bus. Due to the layout of Music, I would definitely recommend getting a preferred room.

Have you stayed at movies or sports? Just wondering comparatively speaking. We've been at both, never did preferred and had great luck with a close room where we just cut through the parking lot to the bus stop.

Wonder if there was music locations similar to the football rooms and toy story locations. Although TS may be a preferred spot not sure if every room is? We never paid extra and got it both times we stayed at Movies.

I've never stayed at Movies or Sports. Checkout the Music map. All the Calypso rooms are preferred. They are the closest to the buses and food court. I really just don't like the layout at Music at all. The best standard you can get is in the Jazz section. Preferred at Music will always get you closer to the food court, unlike some preferred locations at other resorts.

I have not stayed at All-Star music but I have stayed at the movies. I have stayed at pop for time. Love pop. Fun atmosphere good food court buses are much better because you don't share the bus unlike Music you will share with all the all star resorts. Pop it's much quicker. Hourglass lake is nice and it's a nice short walk over the bridge to AOA.

I have stayed at both and I and my wife have returned to Music for the last 5 years. For one thing, it seems quieter. Pop has 2880 rooms and Music has 1694. If both facilities are full, that means a heck of a lot more people fighting for seats in the morning for breakfast and the bus to your parks destination. We also found the staff to be nicer to us at Music-check out my avatar. That's me with the girls in the gift shop. They are both value sites so you know what that means. We personaly just liked Music more.

Stayed at ALL the AllStars and POP.

POP is our favorite and Music our least favorite. The fact that Music always seemed to be priced lower than the rest tells me it's many folks least favorite. If you constantly have to offer lower prices to get the resort booked, there are reasons.

Music is laid out different than any other value resort. It is not the same as Movies or Sports at all. Preferred does make a difference at Music.

The hub is not centrally located and between it and the standard rooms are suites and the preferred rooms. The standard rooms will potentially put you very far away from the main hub because they are at the opposite end of the resort. And given it is a very dark resort, that is a long dark walk at the end of the day.

We just returned from a stay at Music in the Broadway section. It was very pretty and quiet, but.... high school groups were everywhere! We usually stay at Pop, so we were not so happy with the buses. Long waits and very crowded buses. I like Pop better since they don't share buses.

This!

However, if you do go and stay preferred you will be close to the food court/buses. If there are no groups, that would mean a fairly convenient, quiet place to stay.

Overall, however, Pop is the better choice, IMO.

We've stayed at all the deluxe resorts, mods except for cabins and values except for movies. Between Pop and Music, we prefer Music. It's far smaller, far more quiet and the closest value to a "mod feel" because of the plantings and the fountain in the jazz court. We stayed in the Broadway section and loved it - in part because our kids are musical theater fans - but mostly because it was quiet, tucked away, and not too far from the main building. We also enjoyed that walk through the jazz courtyard on our way back to the room. At Pop, we stayed in a preferred room and it was super convenient, but Pop was very vibrant and had lots of energy . . . all of the time. :) As much as I love a lake, it has a different feel to it than the other lakes on property with AOA on the other side.

I was having kind of the same predicament between Pop and Sports. Sports is $80 cheaper than Pop for our stay..so I went with Sports. I don't really see a huge difference between the two and I'd rather save the money. So I say Music.

I've stayed at Music a number of times. I will be staying at PoP in a couple of weeks for the first time. I picked it primarily because for once it was cheaper than Music, but I also had really bad experiences with the bus from music last June.

Music is the second stop on the shared bus between sports music and movies. It can get very full and take extra time to stop at other resorts.

Music is also layed out strange, and the walk time from the room to the bus/food court can be extensive.

With that said, if you can, give music a try. It is a fun theme and can be very relaxing. The rooms are a bit dated, but then again so are the rest of the resorts. Constant occupancy does that.

I agree with the comment about the staff at music. I've never ever ever had a bad CM experience at music.

Bottom line, you can't go wrong with either. Flip a coin and go!

I've stayed at all the values.

I liked my stay at POP but it was very crowded and the buses were among the worst service I've had at Disney. I had long waits as the lines were super long and because it's a large resort with only one stop the bus stops were a pain. But the atmosphere is very festive, and it was a good stay. I'm not a fan of the giant icons and it's pretty much everywhere at POP. It was crowded because it was so popular. It's not a bad place to stay just too crowded and garish for me to say I loved it. I would stay again but it won't be my first choice.

I loved both my stays at Music. I found the landscaping lush and the giant icons minimal. I believe it is lower priced because it is not as festively themed so doesn't appeal to children as much as movies or sports. I've stayed preferred and I stayed back in the Country section standard. I did not find the walk to be any worse than most Disney resorts where standard rooms are always in the back. It was a relaxing and was great to go back to at the end of the day. Buses were fine. I vary rarely shared and even during the two very busy times I was there I never had problems getting on the bus or finding a seat. The few times the buses shared it was because it was middle of the day and so not crowded.

Both resorts had nice food courts and both are close enough to other resorts to walk to another one to try out different food.

Buses from/to Disney Springs are a crap shoot at both resorts.

Walks are what they are if you pick a standard, both resorts have rooms that are far back.

If theme is important pick the one you like better. If money is important than pick Music.

If you prefer highly themed pick POP.

Either way you are at Disney have fun.

I would go with Music but just because, in my opinion, a value resort is a value resort and I'd go with the one that is less. I've stayed at Pop, it was the first time I'd stayed at a value after staying at the deluxe resorts. I figured it was only for 2 nights, arrival night and then the day I was planning on going to AK so was going to have ride a bus anyway. I hated it from almost the first moment I stepped into it. I swore never to stay value again. Fast forward and once again, deciding to save a little money (o.k. around $250) I decided to stay at ASSp for one night (learned my lesson about the 2 night thing). The resort was smaller than Pop and the room seemed a little more updated but I stayed in the football section right on the side that faced the football field. Which is where they show the movie. It was only a hop skip and jump to the front desk and food court but I heard the movie and my remote for my TV didn't work (never did get the TV on) so I couldn't drown it out. I'll never stay at a value again, but having said that, I'd go with All Stars over Pop. I would not pay for a preferred, seriously, I sort of got lost wandering around and ended up at whatever the next All Stars was and that walk was only 5 min. max and that was walking around the entire Sports and part of whatever the next one was.

We like the Pop food court best and if the price was the same, would choose Pop. That said, I'd be happy staying at any of the Values. Between Sports, Movies, and Music, I'd choose Music as I like the theming there best. There are some very pretty sections.
