Pop-Up Maintenance Questions

I would like to install a fold-up vanity mirror that the previous owner left in our pop-up and maybe add another garmet hanger too. Both of these need to attatch to the ceiling. We have a 2000 Coleman Santa Fe. What is the inside ceiling made of? Can I use screws? Need anchors? Anyplace on the ceiling I should stay away from? Also, what is the name of a good cleaner for the clear plastic windows that won't crack or yellow them? Where can I find it? Thanks!!!!!

first of all what type of roof to you have?on older model around 1999 they are foam filled. if you have ac pull the inside grill cover off and you should be able to see the roof.
For the windows just mild soap and water works.
They will get yellow with age.

I have a 2002 westlake, and I just added hooks for holding a wire shelf above our stove/sink area. I used the type of screw that expands against the other side of the material as you tighten the screw. There are plenty of places on the rvnet forum and popupexplorer that have mods and how to do these things. Whatever you do, make sure it is the shortest you can use to prevent going too far. And do not use just regular screws. Check out those forums and you will see pictures.

Thanks for the info- I knew you all could guide me in the right direction. I found alot of info in the Modification forum of popupexplorer! It looks like the expanding screws are the way to go, and right over the sink is where to put the vanity. Thanks!
