Pop up camper or RV

Just got back from our first trip to FW a couple weeks ago and was VERY happy we had our bikes to zip all over. I don't mind walking but biking is really the way to do it there, or the golf cart. It is a real WALK to get around there from one place to the other. It's one of the nicest places we have gone for bike riding. Be aware that even tho we went in April, it still got really hot a couple days and also we got bit pretty bad from these relentless, weird flies, so being able to go indoors out of the heat and away from the flies was wonderful. The day we did Epcot it was so hot almost couldn't get through the park, and I was soooo happy to get back and relax in the cool AC. I'm one for making sure comfort is first bc that can affect everything you do and the mood of your entire trip. So for me, especially in August, I would do the TT to be safe, even if that meant tightening up somewhere else. We went in summer once and the heat got unbearable, and up in the Northeast we are used to really humid, hot summers. I really do like popups tho, I think if it were Spring or Fall would choose the popup. It must be nice to feel the real air and openness to the outside, just would worry about the heat in the summer in FL.

We rented a pop up from Fort Camper Rental in August 2013 and never had a problem with the air conditioner not keeping it cool enough. It was me and 3 recent graduates and the only thing about the pop up was one of the guys was a tosser-turner sleeper and it shook us all when he changed positions...all except him, that is, he slept through it :(. We paid less for rental and the site than we would have with an RV and it was big enough for them to play board games and watch TV when it rained. Otherwise they were out and about except for sleeping.

Speaking of shaking a PUP, when I bought my 2005 Yuma I quickly discovered that the stabilizers were fine for overnight or weekend trips. For trips to FW where we would staying a 10 days the stabilizers weren't enough, so I bought 4 inexpensive aluminum jack stands and place them against the PUP frame and don't even lower the stabilizers. Now we no longer sing "Whole lotta shakin' going on...." on longer stays. :yay:

Glad to hear the pop was kept cool by AC. This is my biggest fear - but we are going in May. Air mattresses and AC seem worth getting the discount!!
