Pop to Universal without a car?

What is the best and what is the least expensive way to get from Pop to Universal without a car? Hire a town car service is probably best .. are there buses from DTD Hotels? city bus? taxi? any idea on cost?

I've been trying to get a good answer to this exact question myself for my December trip. We will be at POP with one day planned at US-IOA. Based on everything that I've read on this board and considering that there are only two of us, we are going to try the Mears shuttle. The cost is $14 a person round trip. You have to call the night before to schedule pick-up the next morning. You also have to call a couple hours prior to when you want to leave US-IOA for the return trip. I know that they will be picking up from other hotels before we get to US-IOA but it seemed to be the best option for us.

There is a city bus, Lynx but you must pick that up at the TTC. A taxi most likely would cost as much as a towncar.
Mears will pick you up a your resort and the cost per adult is aprox. $12.00 round trip.
You would need to make reservations with them, they will pick you up at your resort. When I called for information last year, they told me that I would need to call them about 2 hours before I want to leave the park for a pick up. I did not use them as I found out it was cheaper to rent a car for the day as there were 7 of us and I got a mini van for $45.00.

We had a party of 6 scheduled with Mears in June to go from OKW to SeaWorld. It would have cost us $84 They showed up early and left without us, didn't even ask at the bell station to call us. The bell captain suggested a taxi van because it would be cheaper. I think it was $50, plus tip. It worked out great and we canceled Mears for our trip to Universal and took the same taxi line, HTH!
