Please give any input of where the best place to stay at the POP. We will be there next week and I would like any information I can get. Best building? 1st floor or floor? Best view? Any information would be helpful!

When at the values, and even the moderates, I don't care about 'views'. For the most part, your window curtains are going to be closed due to the foot traffic passing by the room.
But, I like to be on the side of the bldgs that face towards the lake. It's very peaceful and quiet usually. Most people don't like being there because it is bit further to walk to the bus stop/food courts usually.
I also prefer a higher level..again because it tends to be quieter. But, I had a ground level room in the 80's section (Rubicks cube bldg) that faced the lake/parking lot and it was terrific.

I like 50's section a lot also, but it tends to be a bit more crowed because a lot of people seem to like it there also.

I personally like to be anywhere but the 1st floor, as it means less foot traffic by your door.

We stayed in the 80's section once, and I enjoyed that more than the 50's section, although it was a little bit of a walk to the main building/everything pop, but the bus stop was closer which was great in the evenings.

Hope that helps. :)

We were in the 70's section, bldg. 6, 2nd floor, in February. It was great. Didn't hear any foot traffic. Didn't have to wait for an elevator as we just used the steps since it was only the 2nd floor. A very short walk to classic hall and the bus stop. Especially the bus stop after we found a short cut through the parking lot. Everyone has their own opinion. We didn't request anything but nonsmoking. At check-in we were asked where we wanted to be. I just mentioned I wanted to be somewhat close to classic hall and not out in the boonies. :) Our room was also ready at check-in which was 9:30 a.m. Have a great vacation.

We were in 70's building 10 4th floor facing the court yard. No noise, nice location.

The "best" place to stay at Pop Century (or any hotel, really) is inside a room. Other than that, each person has different preferences, needs, requirements, opinions...

Seriously, what if somebody tells you the best room is number 1111 but when you check in all that's available is 8324 or 9160?

Decide what features are important to you and REQUEST that/those, in order of importance.

We stayed in the 60's section, 2nd floor right by the wading pool. Didn't hear any noise other than a baby crying one night in the room next to us and the showers running in the adjacent rooms. This was in November, a slower period, but the hotel seemed quite busy. I do think the ground floor rooms could be a bit loud with people walking by (and talking, laughing, kids screaming, etc.) constantly until well into the night.

I want to echo this sentiment. Decide what your priorities are, and request those rather than asking what someone else liked best. If reception knows your priorities, they can decide how to best accomodate you if your first choice room isn't available- they'll know what caused you to request that room.

When we stayed at Pop, we requested the following things, in order of preference:

1) Close to the main building/bus stops (always a good thing to consider, but if you will be driving rather than taking busses, you may prefer to be near to a parking lot)
2) King bed
3) Upper floor (cuts down on noise from foot traffic outside the door)
4) not facing pool (again, less noise)

We were assigned a king room on the 4th floor of the big wheel building in the 70s, overlooking the courtyard with the giant foosball figures. Every one of our requests was granted, and when we arrived at 10AM our room was ready. The plan of giving them our priorities and letting them work out the specifies worked perfectly.

get the prefered romms in the 50.s building ..if you get rubics cube ..you will walk a mile for coffee..not kidding..its a llloooonnngggg walk if your out back..some people drive to the front its so long ..thats what the people in the roomm next to us did in the morning.its takes 5 minits one way if you get that room if you got to go to the front desk por to the foos court. if you got kids they wonnt like that walk .and its easy to get lost there its so big.

"A mile" may be a slight exaggeration, given that no room is more than a five minute stroll from Classic Hall. As for driving over to Classic Hall? Is it really faster to go in the opposite direction from the destination, get in the car, drive around to the front, park, exit the car, and walk in to Classic Hall? And if the kids aren't going to like a five minute walk from the room to the bus in the morning, how are they going to feel about walking longer/further than that between attractions in the parks, or through the ride queues?

Again, while Guests can request anything, all that's guaranteed is a room at the level for which you pay. You can request room 1111 (I have NO idea if that's a "good" room or a "best" room or whatever - it's just an easy room number to type) but all you're sure of getting is a Preferred room if you pay for that, and a Standard room if you choose not to waste the money.

Thanks for everyone's input! I just wanted to have a feel for the place since we have never stayed there. As far as the long walk to get coffee, I'm the guy that enjoys walking around the resort at 5 in the morning because it's quiet and I am by myself. In my job I walk about 15 miles a day, so what's a mile for coffee:cool1: I'm more concerned about the noise levels than anything else. All in all we will just be glad to there again. Thanks again for everyone's input. Roger ºoº

In 07, we stayed in POP preferred room, 4th floor. It was B-E-A-utiful. The only problem was that took a while because the parking lot was behind the
50's building
