From what I have read Pop only has king bed handicapped rooms but we have dh, myself and ds who is 20 and my dd 15 who is in a wheelchair. How does pop handle families with handicapped children?

When you make your reservation, tell them you need roll-in shower. They will contact special needs and should take care of you. They have had this before and know how to deal with it. You should only have to pay for the one room.

Deal with the Disney Special Needs people for your hotel reservations, they are trained to know the ins and outs of handicap accommodation.

One thing which seemed weird, but actually made sense, was that we had to pay for the extra adults, even though technically we only had two in each room.

Since we were given the extra room, so that we were being treated like those without a handicap, we were charged for the extra people as we would be if we were all in one room (as we would be if we didn't have someone with a handicap). It was equal accommodation (we weren't charged MORE than others would be, but we also weren't charged less).

In your case, you'd only be charged for one person though (since the charge is only for those over 18 years).

Just a note- PLEASE PM the OP when this question is asked vs posting the information. Some able-bodied families have used this information and have lied about the need for an accessible room....perhaps you can see why?---Kathy

Thanks Kathy - I am going to close this thread since it is answered and it will drop off the boards soon enough!
