POP refurbed rooms with Flat Screens! Update Page 13 **

We are heading to Pop in mid April and I'm really hoping for a refurbished room also. Not to sound negative, but does anyone on here find it odd that there are no pictures of any of the new rooms other than what is listed on all ears? I keep seeing posts requesting pictures, but honestly I will believe it when I see it. If you have time to sign on to this site, then why not pull out a camera (or camera phone) and take a pic to upload to here?? Seems odd, but hopefully someone will post something soon.

One of the people I follow on Twitter just posted some photos from a refurbed room in the 70's. Their tweets are protected so there is no way to post it, but there are photos out there other than on Allears. They just aren't posted here. The rooms look great.

sorry i have a question. How is the bldg. with the comp. or some type of rabbit near it?? i have relatives there and they mentioned it. not sure which bldg they have. Thanks, sorry if i interupted. thank you.

I'll be at POP with the fam on the 24th. We requested the '60s. Hopefully we get that or a REFURB! If we get a refurb, I'll definitely take pictures:thumbsup2

I keep looking for pics other than the pics on allears. Does anyone know of another dis thread with more pics of the refurbished rooms? Thanks!

We haven't had any posters report back yet with pictures. A few people have posted to say 'The rooms are gorgeous but I forgot to take pics' .. It'll happen sooner or later.

Just changed my December reservation to POP and requested the 70's bldg facing the lake. We need two connecting rooms or close together at least. We have 2 adult daughters so if we are a few rooms apart it would be okay.
Stayed at POP a few years back and loved it but did want to try another resort but after reading about the refurb I couldn't resist coming back. The All Stars Movies was our other resort so I think coming back to POP is a better choice anyway, refurb or not. :thumbsup2

Just FYI - by December ALL rooms at the resort will be refurbed, not just the 70's building.

So CanadianGuy...we are going in August...do you (from the reports you hear) think they will all be done by August 15th? Or should I have my TA request a "refurbed" room for us? Thanks for everything!:goodvibes

Boy it's a pretty safe bet that they should be completely done at the absolute latest by July sometime..

But if you're at all worried.. just make casual banter at check-in and ask if they are done all the room refurbishments... and if they say yes -- you're good and if they say no.. then ask for one.

Honestly tho - I'd say it's a pretty safe bet they'll be done by then.

We wanted the 70's anyway. So it works out perfectly even before I came upon this thread about the refurb. Our choices after we decided not to go to AS Movies were POP 70's or AS Music Rock Bldg. The refurb just makes it extra special. This is our third switch, the CM's are going to block my name when it comes up on their caller ID-LOL. We originally were going to do the Music's family suites, but then changed that to 2 rooms at the Movies just because the suites didn't look all that nice, so decided 2 rooms would be better and actually cheaper. After reading up on the Movies resort decided maybe they weren't the best for us either being we are an older family and the bus situation didn't sound great being Movies is the last stop so we decided either on POP or Music. DD's wanted the 70's or the Rock buildings. No point in going to AS Music when we are getting a brand new room at POP. Would have liked to try a different resort but I am happy going to back to POP. We really enjoyed our stay there 3 years ago.

LOL, my TA might kick me as this is my 3rd change too...we started off at the WL but I decided I wanted to save $1100 and switched to All Star Sports..but after this thread we want the POP ;) Waiting to hear back from her...I emailed her last night. We've stayed at the POP 2 times before and loved it...I thought DS would want a Sports theme since he's big time into his baseball but he was like "oh yeah I love the POP..why aren't we staying there to begin with?" :confused3 LOL

It's good to know I am not the only one out there that can't make up their
mind :rotfl:
Well, hopefully now we are all set and this is it....unless one of those great pin code discounts come around that I keep hearing about.....praying for the free dining now :worship:

Oh you "Resort Flippers" ahahahaha..

OK this is great for POP but I have to say when are they going to fix up FQ? I mean it's more expensive to stay there and they get the better tvs. I know that sounds kind of not so nice BUT people do spend more to stay at moderate and even more at deluxe and personally I feel its time to update FQ.
I though POfQ just was totally redone in 2008?

The last refurb was 2004. The next 'soft refurb' would be 6 years after that.. or 2010.

Soft refurbs include things like new drapes, bedspreads.. ocassionally carpets and typically NOT new furniture. But Disney does decide all those things based on the status of the stuff in the rooms now.

So.. if too many rooms are too shabby.. they can step up a soft refurb to include more.

Thanks so much, Melissa for posting this. It makes me feel much better knowing that someone else has been able to see pics other than allears. Getting excited and the countdown is officially on....only 28 days left.

Hello Felicia, my name is Sunny and I am a "resort flipper" too. :lmao: It's so nice to meet you. ;)

Nice to meet you Sunny!! :goodvibes

DD is down at Animal Kingdom right now working Dinosaur. She's a Seasonal CM...she did 2 semesters through their College Program last year and just LOVED Disney and all her other wonderful fellow CMs so she goes back as often as she can to her other "home" -- she's on Spring Break and decided to go get some Disney time in ;)

Will your daughter still be there in April? I'm going (with two other UK Cms) and we'll be going on Dinosaur. If she's there I'll keep an eye out to say a quick 'hi' and wave as we go through.

No she's just down for this week --- she's on Spring Break from college...funny you mention UK CMs...one of her dearest friends was a College Progam CM from Scotland :)

She swears doing the College Program is one of the greatest decisions of her life! Don't mean to turn this thread into a "Why you should do a Disney College Program"...LOL

I agree with your DD!!! I went down in spring 2008 and did a CP at BBB and then a PI at AK-kids discovery clubs and AK turned me seasonal and so I'm leaving in 2 days..not to work but to celebrate my birthday :) I have until 12/31 to work my 40 hours or I will be cut off. I don't have more than a weeks paid vacation at my job so I'm debating if it's worth it or not. My brother is interviewing next week for a CP :)
