So as far as we know just 2 buildings? 6 and 9...is that right? Just trying to summarize here...We are going easter week, so I still have 3 weeks...any additional information from guests between now and then would be greatly appreciated...

For those wanting to make a room request -- I would STRONGLY suggest you simply request a refurbed room if that's the most important thing to you.

Remember.. the info that I'm giving on these boards is pretty much out of date within a few days of me posting it. I'll strive to get more updates as timely as I can ..

But... if you really want a refurbed room - straight up ask for that on your room request. You may request 90's section and get an unrefurbed room in a building in the 90's section that just hasn't been finished yet.

So far.. ALL of building 6 has been done... and at least 1 floor of building 9. That's the latest.

We're staying at Pop late May/early June and I am definitely going to request a refurbed room, I don't care where... So glad I found this thread. I'll be keeping an eye on the progress!! Thanks for all the information and updates everyone!

From what I am reading, if things go as expected, the rooms should probably be completed by June. Is that a pretty good assumption?

Well originally I would have thought so.. but remember - complications can arise and urgent needs elsewhere can sometimes derail the refurb team (this is unusual but it CAN happen)

I would say if it's not done by then, it should be 'almost done'..

I dont' know what to request now. We will be there in less than 2 weeks now (woohoo!), and requested 60's ground floor poolside as we love it there.
But... kids did want to try out 70's, and yes, we want a preferred room. Wondering if will have any luck with building 6 ground floor? we booked a preferred room, so guessing not many preferred in 70's to begin with,let alone ground floor.
Should I change it to refurb request... or ask at checkin?

I would just leave it and ask at check in.

If you change it to a refurbed room they may not know what you are talking about.

We always request the ground floor in bldg. 6, the side with the Mickey Phone, Have these rooms been done or is it just the lake facing rooms? The room we request is anywhere between 6172 and 6161. Any info on these rooms?

All of building 6 is completely refurbed.

Only 1 floor of building 9 is confirmed at this point.

I am in building 6, in the 70's section right now in a refurb room. When I got here yesterday it smelled brand new. I think I am one of the first to stay in it. New mattress, bedspreads, tv, dresser and coat rack. it's very nice.
Don't see any construction going on in building 10, I herd it was completed. I think they are working on part of the 60's area.
I requested 70's area and had no problem getting it.
Only bad news is the with the new flat screen tv's there are no new channels, the same old limited wdw TV. What a waste of a nice TV.

Nice - now I can watch the preview movies in full HDTV! Why can't we get a wider variety of channels with this cable system?
But it's great to hear that the rooms look really nice - i'm looking forward to our trip in Sept.!

For the record, there is a plan afoot to upgrade the WDW Resort Cable system -- property wide - including DVC resorts.

Not sure what the timeline is.. but probably a year-ish.

Did you request building 70s building in advance or did you just ask at check-in?? I will be checking in on Thursday and was thinking about faxing a request asking for building 6 (refurbished room) or just taking my chances and asking when we check in. We booked a preferred room. I can't wait to see pictures and hopefully see it in person in a few days!!!
