Still deliberating over whether to book POP or AoA. Just 2 adults going for all the fun of the parks and Disney Springs.

Price wise they are very similar so any recommendations would be very gratefully received.

I've stayed at each resort 3+ times (as a couple) and other than getting upgraded to a family suite at AoA once, the experience was basically the same. Transportation was always good and frequent. I used to walk across the bridge to the other resort's food court for some variety, but their menus are currently identical, so that's currently moot (but AoA would normally win in that respect). Neither feels more upscale than the other, so go with the theme/soundtrack you prefer.

Edit: For what it's worth, we're staying at Pop Century this September and next January. We don't feel the need to pay extra for AoA for virtually the same experience.

That's very helpful, thank you.

I'd vote POP.

I've stayed at both and I'd choose POP rooms over The Little Mermaid rooms. The LM rooms are on the outer edge of AoA so a bit of walk. At POP you have a lot more choice of where your room is.

Also, I will tell you that I am not the fan of AoA in general. I'm the type that is good with busy, whimisical, Disney bubble stuff and I've done multiple stays at the All Stars and POP, but I really disliked the atmosphere at AoA. It's really loud, really crowded and I never could relax there. But if you love any of those movies you might like it. And fair point that busy and crowede is to be expected because its a big draw for families and if that's a vibe you like then you might like it better.

We absolutely expect noise, but I agree with you, we'd definitely go with less noise is better. :P

I prefer Pop. The Little Mermaid rooms are a bit of a walk from everything. AoA is fun to explore the grounds, but that's easy to do when you're staying at Pop.

I really love the theming of AoA as a whole and especially the LM section and rooms, but I slightly prefer Pop overall. The distance from the LM rooms (especially building 8) to transportation/lobby is a bit much compared to even the furthest rooms in the 80s/90s at Pop. Also, I like how the Murphy bed at Pop folds up for use as a table and gives you a little more space. You can tell at AoA that those rooms weren't really designed for two queen beds.

Really the only advantage AoA has over POP for a party of 2 is that the Cheerleaders and The 15s(not currently coming to WDW due to Covid 19),etc. don't stay there but can sometimes be found at POP in large numbers,so for anyone who hates the Groups and whose dates coincide with an event,AoA would be the way for them to go.
