I booked Pop Century for Oct. 13th - 16th. I was wondering if this might be a mistake? I would like to hear about other people who have stayed here and their experience. What is it close to?

Everybody has different tastes but I would say it was not a mistake. We have stayed at POP 3 times. POP is close to Epcot and MGM. People say you can see Epcot's fireworks for the top floor of one of the buildings. I have not personally seen them but have heard them.

I have not stayed at any other resorts. We have talked about it but always go back to POP. They don't share a bus with other resorts and you are usually dropped off first and picked up last when riding the Magical Express.
I have always found the staff helpful and friendly.

Hope you have a great trip

We stayed at POP 2 times this year and really enjoyed it both times. We have stayed at all the moderates and a couple of deluxe resorts at WDW.

While there is nothing like Polynesian, for our money, POP is terrific. We enjoyed the theming a lot. It's very colorful and fun. We also thought that POP had the absolute best transportation of any of the resorts we've stayed at. While the busses get crowded at peak times, we usually only waited 10 minutes or less. When there is a long line, they'll load 2 busses at once.

DD12 loved being able to get slushies in the refillable mugs (although the machine was broken about 1/2 the time). We also felt that the food court was very good for breakfasts or a snack.

All of the CM's we interacted with were delightful people. They wanted us to have a good time.

I don't think you made a mistake at all.

It is so good to see so many positive reports! We are leaving in about a month and we are all getting so excited!

Thanks for everyone's tips and comments!

Just returned from 3 days @ POP yesterday afternoon & enjoyed it. Food court, shopping & transportation is a BIG plus!! Check in was a breeze. Only thing we didn't like this time was where our "preferred room" was located - in the 60's backside. Granted it was better walking distance than the one we had the last time, but not what I had expected for the extra money. Also, this trip too many little kids running around & screaming after 10pm on the third floor and doors repeatedly slamming. We were exhausted after a busy day @ 2 parks & just wanted a good nights sleep before getting up early to hit another park on our last day. Not even a fan and increasing the volume on the TV did the trick. I still love POP & would choose it over all the values, but next time we might upgrade to a mod (still trying to convince DH for a deluxe just one time while we have AP's this year).

Enjoy your trip & stay at POP. I'm sure it'll be great!! princess:

I think you have made a great decision and wouldn't worry about a resort change. We had always stayed at moderates before but a couple of years ago got a great value offer we couldn't pass up. We decided to give POP a try and loved it. Granted the rooms are a little smaller than moderate but, other than that we didn't feel many differences between the two. We stayed in the 50's Tramp building top floor (always nice to not have to worry if you will have stomping and racket above you), the only thing I will request different this trip is a room on the backside of the building away from the pool as the music and the people did get a little loud at times. We loved the food court and the gift shop, sure the food court can be a little hectic and loud at times but we tend to enjoy all of that as part of the fun. We had excellent service for everything from check in/out to maid service and no problems with the busses. I just stayed over from a business trip a couple of weeks ago and decided to move to POP for the 2 nights I spent in Disney. Again, it was a wonderful experience as well and because of another great offer we have POP booked again for our upcoming trip in Dec. The only suggestion I would make is to take some kind of fan or noise machine with you for overnight. With POP being one of the newer resorts on property, it doesn't have window unit AC so even when its running there is no noise. I don't know if this would bother you or not, but for me I like to have some kind of noise to help cut down on outside noises. I think POP is a great choice and I hope you have a great trip!
