Thinking about going in Feb and wanted to know if Pop Century has wheelchair accessible rooms with double beds and a roll in shower. Also does it share a bus with the other value hotels?

Sorry I can't help on the room, but POP does have dedicated buses that they don't share with any other resort.

Thanks that helps some, with 2 kids in chairs and only 2 chairs on a bus that makes our odds better. At the other resorts I usually just drive unless we are the first bus stop for pickup.

I'm not sure, but I think all the accessible rooms at POP are king beds. They do have the roll-in shower which is lovely, and some lower shelving.

Hi Cindy, how are things going? I am doing my first solo trip in Dec at POR and the family will be staying at Pop next June.

Don't know first hand but I have heard that they have doubles with roll ins.

My experience with accessible rooms is that they have kings and connect with a room with 2 doubles.

There are some resorts that have 2 double beds in the same room with a roll in shower. I've stayed in 2 different rooms at POR that had 2 double beds with a roll in shower. I've heard there are other resorts that have this available too.

You need to remember that WDW has 2 types of handicapped rooms. There is the accessable room which has the tub with grab bars. And then there is the barrior free room that has the roll in shower. Depending on the resort each type of room could be either a king or have 2 double/queen beds. Most resorts have both types of beds in both types of rooms. Special services can tell you for sure.

The easiest thing to do is call Disney reservations- (407) 939-7543. We are going Nov. 1 and when I made reservations for Pop I wanted a king bed accessible room close to things (premium room). It took a while but the CM did a fantastic job of getting me what I wanted. She had to put me on hold a while to check out which rooms were which and what was available.

Actually what they did DL, was call special services to get the room. They are the only ones that can release a handicapped room. CRO can't get you a handicapped room without calling them.

The last time I checked with CRO about POP I was told I could have two beds or a King bed, either with a tub or a roll-in shower. So that sounds to me like POP has both.

I know ASMu was where we had the King w/ roll-in shower and connecting room with double beds and regular tub.

Hope you get what you need! :thumbsup2

I really liked POP quite a bit. I've stayed at the AllStars, and I liked the 'feel' of the POP better. I really thought the landscaping was much nicer too. Despite its size it doesn't feel as spread out as the AS resorts either. I was in the 70's section, building 9, which was VERY convienient to the main building and the bus stop.
