It's been 4 years since we have been to Disney World. I see that Pop Century has been renovated and is now more expensive than the other value resorts. Is it worth the extra $? And does Pop Century still have its own bus transportation? What's the benefits of staying at PC over the other value resorts? Thanks!!

Our last stay at Pop was pre-renovation, so I can't compare to the other values. I think the increase in price has to do both with the renovation (replaced double beds with queen beds) and with the Skyliner. It does still have its own buses to MK and AK, but it shares the Skyliner line to CBR with AoA. At CBR you would transfer to either the Epcot line or the DHS line, and there are no buses from Pop to either of those parks. There are buses from AoA to both of those parks, though, so if you didn't want to ride the Skyliner you could walk to AoA to catch the bus.

We stayed there post renovation /pre Skyliner and I hated it. DS and I went from Universal Cabana Bay to Pop in 2019 and hated the rooms. Really, hated everything but the big pool.

ETA: I mention Cabana Bay because it’s a similar theme and price point, but CB is light years better

The biggest benefit that Pop Century has over the other value resorts is definitely the Skyliner! It is far superior and faster than bus transportation and gives you easy access to two of the four parks.

I have looked at this as my res is for 14 nights at pop. Moving to all star is a saving of about £400 So i divided 400/14

£30 ish a day. So then i asked myself if there was an option in the app the pay £30 per day to use the skyliner would i pay it. The answer was no and i moved to all star.

I guess it depends on time of year you go to how crowded buses may be. But im not paying that to ride the skyliner.

And the other big advantage is the beautiful Hourglass Lake!

we say no its not worth the extra money. We prefer All star music. Just came back from a quick trip there and when we dont use our dvc we prefer the allstar music or movies. Rooms are all redone, excellent food court and great bus service. We would never want to rely on the skyliner for transportation nor want to pay extra for it
