Pop Century vs Preferred AS Movies

I can get a standard room at Pop Century or a Preferred room at All Star Movies for the same choice. We've stayed at POR and CS before, and this is our first time at the values. I like that at Pop there is potentially the option for a King bed, but I don't know how likely we are to get that. I like the idea of a preferred location at ASM with less walking. Which would you choose?

And as far as the king bed goes, not sure if this applies to all the king beds at Pop, but the king room that I was originally assigned was a handicap room and the bed was very low to the floor.

I've read that the accessible rooms are the ones with king beds. Maybe I can request an accessible room.

Movies also has kings beds, but very few. We just got back from Movies and loved it! We rented a car but the walk from our room in mighty ducks to the lobby was only like 5 minutes. Md isn't preferred. After doing so much walking in the park I don't mind a 5 minute walk to my room.

I would go with the preferred room at Movies! Less walking, FUN theming. In my experience you are very Unlikely to get a king bed.

I vote Pop. You can always put in a request to get a room in a building closer to the Lobby. It's the go to for value resorts since it has its own bus system and from what I hear a much better food court.

Done Pop 3 times, and we're going back in December. We've always requested a preferred room and have had good luck being close to central area of the resort. Pop Century doesn't share buses with other resorts but the All Star Resorts share the buses. As far as a King Bed goes it's the luck of the draw. I wouldn't request an accessible room unless you really need it,someone who does may not be able to get one then.

I would take Movies over Pop anyday. It is smaller which means less walking. King rooms are usually accessible rooms, with showers and no tub. We were put in one in the Mighty Ducks section and didn't request it. I wouldn't request one because I feel that someone might need it more than me. Everyone makes comments about the buses but here is my take - there are so many people at Pop so the bus lines are long and you may not get on the first one that comes. During peak times the All Stars don't share buses so you would have no trouble getting on a bus.

This has been my experience at POP and AoA. Huge lines, sometimes there are multiple buses sometimes not. But buses are a crap shoot at any resort so I wouldn't base a decision JUST on buses.

Personally my favorite value is Music. Big icons with faces give me the creeps LOL

I vote Pop because you have the dedicated bus vs ASMu that shares buses.

Agree 100%. Have stayed at all the All Stars and twice at Pop. Buses are not shared at the All Stars during peak times. Did MK park closing while staying at Pop on one trip. After standing in the Pop bus line for almost 45 mins, we took an alternate way back to the hotel. The line for the Pop bus extended outside the waiting area and along the back of the walkway.
