Just returned from a week at Pop. We requested 50's first floor but checked in early and they had 60's 2nd floor available. We had 2 rooms together. everything was great but "Mousekeeping". We were in building 4. No towel decorations like we had in June (different building) and the first 3 days they didn't come and do room or leave towels. My sons connecting room was done but not ours. One day we came back at 4 and the room wasn't done so I went and complained at the desk. They said it was probably cause we has do not disturb sign out, we didn't but they came and did it that day and then it was done the rest of the week. Other than that everything was perfect. I love the views from the benches by the lake, beautiful.

I found we only got the animals at check in and if we tipped mousekeeping!!

Hey guys, has anyone stayed at Pop actually on Halloween? I am curious if there are any special activities worth hanging out at the resort for the evening. No kids, just me. And I am doing MNSSHP the night before. TIA

Yes, they do have activities, but they are geared towards the little ones. We actually went to MNSSHP that night!

Yay! That's awesome! :goodvibes I've never gotten a swan before. Pics?

Yes, later today I will post pics. She also left extra shampoo upon request and extra face cloths.

If you plan to use their shampoo, it seems to need more of it than I use if mine at home. Maybe because I'm not use to combo shampoo and conditioner?

What about online check in vs regular check in at Pop if you arrive late at night? Does it matter? We are a family of 7, requesting connecting rooms and we do not arrive at MCO until late at night (after 10). I don't really have a preference as far as section or floor (though I would like a higher floor, don't need one) and we are in standard rooms. Any recommendations? Thanks for bearing with me and my questions! 70 more days to go!!

One of the advantages -- if not the advantage -- of online check-in is that there is a dedicated queue at the check-in desk. That separate queue can be good during times when the regular check-in line is really long.

I've seen both -- when the online queue and the regular queue were both short, and when the regular queue was really, really long. These experiences were during the early afternoon.

But with a late night check-in, my guess is it won't be as busy as during the day, so you can probably skip online check-in and/or they won't even be running that separate desk. I've never checked in late so I don't know for sure, but that is my guess.

You will only get Mickey Mail if you have booked a package. If you have booked a room only, you will not receive anything else. Mickey Mail includes a booklet with vouchers for golf, the arcade, etc., hard plastic Mickey Mouse luggage tags, and a Photopass card.

So we will be there in November-I am running in the Wine and Dine! and this will be our first stay at the POP. We have booked two rooms...they are supposed to be connecting, but as I am reading threads it is seeming like the connecting rooms are not guaranteed-is this true? We have DH and I and our two kids, 11&9 and our foreign exchange student, 17. We can NOT have just rooms that are next to each other, they need to have a door in between.
Are there only so many of those rooms and if so, will that severely limit where they can put us?:confused:

thanks! you're always so quick to reply and helpful! and sorry, i forgot to mention that we booked a room, tickets, and ddp. i can't wait for mickey mail!!

So I just booked our first stay at Pop Century... :wave2:

We've always stayed deluxe at WDW and are returning to WL for 4 nights beginning Monday, December 10 for free dining. I planned to stay Sunday night off-site to get a jump start on Monday and had booked us at the Clarion Suites Maingate. So today I get a Florida resident offer for 20% off value resorts and check it out. Seems I can stay at the Pop Century for within a couple of bucks of what the Clarion would have cost. So I cancelled the Clarion and booked 2 nights in a preferred pool view room at Pop. :cool1:

We'll be staying Saturday and Sunday night with no park tickets. We plan to spent Sunday at the resort and Downtown Disney. I do have ADRs at Sanaa on Sunday night.

I may have just opened up a whole new world for us... :thumbsup2

The number of connecting rooms is not huge. Here is a link that shows the building/floor layouts and those rooms that connect: http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/1329/popcenturyroomlayoutlarge.jpg I believe every building and every floor has connecting rooms, it's just that the majority of rooms do not have connecting doors.

Make sure that you've asked for "connecting" rooms, not merely adjoining rooms. My understanding is that connecting rooms are not something WDW will guarantee. One time when we traveled, my BIL had to have a connecting room to his parents because his dad needed help getting around. This was at POFQ and they were not able to give them connecting rooms for the first night. They moved the second day to have connecting rooms for the 6 remaining days of vacation.

Hey quick question for all you POPers, if I want to add a request to my vacation package i.e king bed or 2nd floor, them is no way to do that online right you have to call up. Also does it matter how early or late I do it do I remind them at check in?

Apologies if this is answered somewhere but this is a very long thread and I couldn't see it in the opening info.

Can you walk across the bridge to check out the Art of Animation? Or is it better to drive around?

Thanks

You can either walk across the bridge, or you can walk from the 50's section around to the Mermaid section, or you can drive. The 50's parking lot and the Mermaid's parking lot join together without any type of barrier.
