I miss my happy place. We won't be returning in 2013. As much as I would like to, DD is graduating high school and wants a trip to Costa Rica instead. I will then be able to return in 2014. Seems like forever!!!

No, just asking for the 50's section with a lakeview. Maybe lakeview rooms are preferred rooms. Will find out in 5 days :cool1:

There are standard lakeview rooms. It should have let you choose both the 1950s section and lakeview. Sounds like there was a glitch in the system.

Actually lake view are all standard rooms. The preferred block at 50's are those located closest to Classic Hall.

I am in 50's Lakeview, a standard room. I have a beautiful view of AoA!! It's nice and quiet back here too!!

Are there safe in the rooms?

Yes. There are safes that are locked with a key. They are not huge, but big enough for an iPad, wallet, jewelry, etc

And, can also hold a regular laptop as well! :)

Thanks, I'm just trying to decide whether to hang out around the resort or hit up Epcot for more F&W!

Unless you have young children, I'd say go to F&W!! :thumbsup2

Just returned from a week at Pop. We requested 50's first floor but checked in early and they had 60's 2nd floor available. We had 2 rooms together. everything was great but "Mousekeeping". We were in building 4. No towel decorations like we had in June (different building) and the first 3 days they didn't come and do room or leave towels. My sons connecting room was done but not ours. One day we came back at 4 and the room wasn't done so I went and complained at the desk. They said it was probably cause we has do not disturb sign out, we didn't but they came and did it that day and then it was done the rest of the week. Other than that everything was perfect. I love the views from the benches by the lake, beautiful.

We stayed Bldg 4, 2nd floor in August with connecting rooms.... we had Marieli and she was fabulous!! It was good you took care of this during your stay instead of being dissatified after your trip; sometimes mistakes/or being overlooked just happens and its good to address any issues immediately. :goodvibes

And I agree, beautiful views of the lake. I took a long walk one morning all around the resort and sat in those benches for a bit with my mug. Very nice, wish I were there now!!

Well, a trip to Costa Rica will be very special (is it for you both?) ... hmmm ... perhaps a solo trip next year might be doable?? :)

I wasn't aware that you could request a section. I'd have to pick 80s as that's the decade everybody in our crew was born in.

But I'll takes what I can gets.

I agree Janet. They are nice for sitting and pretty views.

One thing that bothered me about the lakeside benches was that they all seemed to be set up as designated smoking areas. I would typically run first thing in the morning, go get my Coke Zero, and then sit out and read until I got my DD up at 7:30. So, I would be sitting at one lakeside bench reading or catching up on e-mail and then I'd have to move when a smoker came over (I totally understand that they get first priority for a DSA). I once went down to the little recessed seating area right by the generation gap bridge and, I swear it is not a DSA, but a couple of smokers came by to get their first cigarettes of the day done. (This didn't happen every single time, but it was frequent.)

Anyway, I'd like it if a couple of those benches were NOT DSAs. Anyone else find that a problem?

I agree! I'm here now and I wish that there wasn't a dsa right next to classic hall on my way to eat I have to walk through a cloud of smoke:(

What color are the current mugs at POP?? I'm hoping they are different than Art of Animation....

ok, another dumb question: can i take a bus from one of the parks and go to another park, or do i have to go back to pop first and then get on the park bus? for example, i want to do my morning at DHS and then go to AK in the afternoon. Will there be a bus at DHS that goes directly to AK? i've read the transportation forum and also other websites with disney info. no one mentioned this (maybe because it's so obvious?). this is my first time staying onsite, and i am trying to plan my hopper itinerary. thanks!

You can travel directly between parks, but the bus from MK to another park will be found at the TTC. There is no direct bus to DTD from a park, however.

We will be arriving 10/28 for Halloween week & want to decorate our windows and door. Can anyone please advise the size.

Thanks!

Six more days....six more days:cool1: it seems like only yesterday it was six more months. Can't wait for Sunday. We are pretty much packed and ready to go. Very excited for the MNSSHP. My son and I are going as a gladiator and a goddess.

Can't wait for House of Mouse!

What about online check in vs regular check in at Pop if you arrive late at night? Does it matter? We are a family of 7, requesting connecting rooms and we do not arrive at MCO until late at night (after 10). I don't really have a preference as far as section or floor (though I would like a higher floor, don't need one) and we are in standard rooms. Any recommendations? Thanks for bearing with me and my questions! 70 more days to go!!
