POP Century ~ Unofficially the Grooviest FAQ Thread #6 ~April 2012

Well, I called Disney today to add room requests. Spoke with a CM named Lacey. She supposedly added king bed, lakeview, 4th floor & building 3, but I'm not so sure because my online reservation says "king bed" only. The other 3 requests aren't listed. The CM also said, "I also see you have a request for a refrigerator"? I said, "yes, we will need one for the babies". It didn't even dawn on me to ask her, "uh, hasn't all of the POP rooms been upgraded with refrigerators" (insert duh! smiley here)? I'll call back later this week and hopefully speak with a different CM and varify everything. What a day! It's gone from a "Disney Day" this morning to a "What the heck?" day this afternoon.:scratchin

Well, most likely your other requests are on the reservation; but its a good thing to call back to confirm.:) [Perhaps only so many characters can be viewed in the on-line field :confused3.] You did put in 4 requests; usually it is better to limit your requests to 3. But it is good to note that the King request is listed first (assuming the other requests can't be seen),

It's weird that the CM did not comment that refrigerators are now in the guest rooms, but unfortunately we have all had CMs that are not as knowledgeable as others, which is why we suggest to call back for clarification. :goodvibes

We are spending the whole time at POP. We will take a day or two and go off property. Harry Potter and Universal for a day,

:cool1: Harry Potter rocks! :thumbsup2 Last summer we took my DD and her BFF to Universal for a few days, specifically to see WWoHP. Forbidden Journey is fantastic. We ate in the 3 broomsticks every day. You will love it!

Hi there! We arrive at Pop Century in just 10 days!! I have a question for you experts. We had booked a free dining package and before we booked our flights we decided to add on a night to our trip. We decided to arrive a day earlier than we had booked. I called to add the day on, but it wasn't available with our package, so we just added a room only reservation only. Not a big deal since our plane doesn't land at MCO until 7:30 anyway. But the CM I was on the phone with said Pop would hopefully leave me in 1 room the entire time. Now looking my reservations over I see that they booked us a Pool View room on our night only and a Standard room on our package stay. I'm thinking this is going to cause major problems and I'd obviously love to stay in one room right to start with. Should I call the reservation line back and see if I can downgrade my first night in hopes of staying in 1 room our entire stay? Any advice or insight for me?

This doesn't sound like it would work for you, but when we drove down last June, the original plan had been to stop in SC for the night. We made it to SC fairly early so DH decided to keep on trucking. We hit Daytona at 10 pm. Since we only had 2 more hours to go, again we kept on trucking. But, I grabbed the Priceline app on my phone and went to "Name Your Own Price". We snagged a room at Downtown Disney Doubletree for $55! A week before July 4th!

Last August we arrived a day early due to waaaay better flight prices and stayed o/n off sight and then cabbed it to Pop !! Worked great !!!

Wow! A great $ score for a DTD hotel! :thumbsup2

For la_la though, they are flying and would probably be counting on using ME.

la_la ... Call Disney, and inquire if a standard room is available for that one night .... at the time you booked it's entirely possible a standard wasn't available or the CM just selected the pool view category over standard; however, as well all know guests add/cancel ressie every day. :)

10 DAYS!!!! :dance3: I just tried to do the online check-in, and it said 1) couldn't apply my credit card for charges, and 2) couldn't accept my room choices (near trans and 50's bldg). I'll have to call this afternoon.

3 days until we check in at Pop.....I refuse to change my ticker so close.....:cool1:

Hmmm, I wonder what's up...It seems several people have had a few issues with online check-in. I have also heard issues about recieving mickey mail on time...we have yet to get ours and I've been checking the mailbox daily (even sunday, lol)

When did you all recieve your mickey mail? I know mine may take a day or two longer due to being on post (i hate ft. meade), but i'm starting to worry :scared:

What I'm so confused!!! :confused3 I think you should give us all an hourly run down of where you'll be staying! I'm lost! AGAIN!!!

:rotfl: I can once I figure it out....cancelled poly, added back on a night at RPR....driving down and checking into Pop for first 2 nights for my WDW fix...:thumbsup2

No one "felt" Poly this trip...maybe because I hyped them up for SW and US/IoA and da beach....but alas DD5 and I want to visit the castle....offering Pop to DH as a value alternative....he is agreeable. Cheaper than our Jacksonville hotel...and since I am in the 5 day window...no changes ;)

I haven't changed mine either. :upsidedow
We are no longer going to Nickelodeon and arrive at POP in 5 days, not 7. whoo hoo!

Just got back yesterday from Disney and did a split stay at both POP and CSR. For anyone concerned about POP no worries. It is a great resort and awesome bus service and quick dining service. I can't say the same about CSR.
