POP Century ~ Unofficially the Grooviest FAQ Thread #6 ~April 2012

I am starting to pack, and I am bringing all of my clothes on hangers. I was looking for pics of the closet area, and I have seen two versions. One version has one shelf all the way across and another version has the shelf all the way across and then a second shelf halfway across under that one (giving less room to hang).
So which one is current? Or does it vary by room type?
Thanks :)

Ok POP friends. We are checking in at POP June 18, with 5 adults and 2 children (DD6 and DS4). We are staying in a standard room and so far our only request is to have them adjoining (2 rooms). Any other suggestions? Is there any building better to say in than others that I should request. This is our first time saying on property. Any help is greatly appreciated!:tink:

I noticed you are checking in shortly after us!! I just wanted to ask, have you gotten any Mickey Mail yet?? I've been on the June thread and there are several people who have not recieved theirs yet. I called Disney and they said it got mailed out on the 5th, but I have yet to recieve it...I just figured since you are getting there after us, that if you had gotten yours already, then I would call and push for copies to be re-sent to me...Thanks!!:)

Good question. I am bringing all my clothes on hangers also and haven't even thought about closet space. I guess I just figured I would have enough.

I will be there in 12 days!!:woohoo::woohoo:

Have a great trip.

No Mickey mail for us yet, but then again, I haven't been to the mailbox today. We've never stayed on property, so I didn't know when to expect it.

Well I DID have a problem with the online check-in this morning so I may have to call up there directly.

It didn't take my changed credit card # (not wanting to use the same card to charge in-room expenses once there as I used to pay the ressie. Not a bigge, I can fix that on-site).

The thing I need to call about is it didn't accept my room requests. I wanted to stay 60's in a non-preffered on the ground floor (basically, the backside of the building towards the lake and away from the pool. I need the ground floor because even though I appear to be a perfectly healthy 30-something year old male, I have had reconstructive knee surgery in the past and doctors have warned me before to avoid stairs as much as possible. It's not a huge bigge and I'm certainly not disabled in any way. Just preventative maintenance so to speak and something i would prefer.

I'm guessing I could just call the main desk up there right? What # would that be and when would be a good time to do that (as in, how soon does the reservation start showing up in the HOTELS system so I can get them to mark it?)

So now that I've bored you with all the details............

The count is down to 10589 minutes as of 10:01 pm EST. I guess I'll cross that 10,000 minute threshold tomorrow!

To to the best of my knowledge it is one shelf across only (it was in our room, 2 doubles). Perhaps it might differ if the room style is different, i.e. a King and/or a HA room. :)

 Welcome! Suggest the 70s (bldg 6 & 10), the children's playground is close by, as well as being convenient to both the busing and Classic Hall. If you would like a section with a pool, go with the 60s or 50s. In the 50s we like bldg 3 (tramp bldg) - we also add lakeview to our reservation and all three areas mentioned (50s, 50s 70s) all have lakeview rooms. :)

Just curious .... did you request adjoining or connecting rooms? I only ask as didn't want you disappointed if you did not receive connecting rooms (doorway in-between the rooms) versus adjoining, which would be rooms in close proxmity to each other. Sure you know the distinction but wanted to be also sure you had the correct notation on your reservation. :goodvibes

Those are the same problems I had yesterday with the online check-in, so it mus be a problem in the Disney system. (others have reported similar problems)

:) Thanks! We have the 2 doubles, so hopefully there will be plenty of room.

Same here - had the same problem when making room requests.

Overall, we would go back .. for HP really. We are looking forward to having this area expanded. I think with a month in Orlando, it is well worth it to spend a fews in Universal. :goodvibes

thanks for the insight. We are HP fans. Hoping to do 2 days at Universal/IOA, and an evening/night at City Walk. Just for a change.

Just did online check in! Getting super excited- just wanted to share that the system did accept all my requests so maybe the glitch is fixed

;)
Just read on another thread about Pop Warner week being the first week of December, the same time me and DW are taking our two babies to POP Century. Has anyone had any experience with Pop Warner Week? How loud and crazy is it with all the extra kids running around? Just wanted to know because I may cancel our reservations and go earlier or later. Thanks.
When we got married in 2008, we were at POR Riverside, and Pop Warner arrived in our 2nd week. The kids were friendly, but a bit noisy. We just went with it. We became known as "The Honeymooners". When the kids left, they left us "gifts" by our door. Seems like they couldn't take these "gifts" with them. ;)
They weren't in the parks in the day time, so you should be okay. Actually they didn't make a large impact in the evenings either. You will see them at the resort.
We've never scheduled a trip at that time again. ;)

Okay POPers, I'm going to a job fair today. Send me some pixie dust!! I need to find a job that starts after September (after all my disney trips, haha!!) and one that can pay for daycare AND my Disney obsession, and still lets me off enough to go to the World!! I don't think that's much to ask, do you??

Hi Ralph!! So close for you now. :cool1: It seems that on-line check in has had several glitches lately. I believe you can call either number since you are 7 days out .... POP directly (407-938-4000) and general reservations. You did make this reservation directly with Disney, correct? Lines open up at 7am.

 for your minutes countdown!! Under 10K today!! :cool1:

That's easy if you look where the quote is on the bottom of each post next to it is a (") when you click on that it turns orange and then you go to the next you want to reply to and either hit the (") or the quote when you press quots all you have selected will be in your reply and you just answer/ comment in between each :goodvibes
This is coming from one who sure needed the same advice a few years back :rotfl2:

If you don't get 1st floor there is a elevator in every building. But I'm sure once there they will try to accommodate you. Have a great trip.
