Pop Century - ugly CM costumes

Can someone explain why the CM's at POP have the ugliest costumes? The awful gray old-lady "suits" just seem out of place. Anyone know the story behind the drab ensemble? I think it's also the same at AOA.

The ladies'costume is to represent a 50's housewife's outfit.The mens' represents 70's disco era.Believe I know..I wear it 5 days a week!!Have a groovy day!!
