Pop Century then WL

Hi. For the first time we are staying at the Pop Century in July for two nights anthen switching to the WL. We want to get an early start when going to the parks. Can we drive over to the WL super early register and go to the parks? Do we have to wait for our 2 room assignments before heading over to the parks if we want to leave our car there and take the WL transportation?
We just want to make the most of our time at Disney and don't want our day of switching from one resort to the other to slow us down.

you can check in early like 7 am (sometimes earlier).

even if your room is not ready you can definitely go to the parks....

you will be given your keys (just not your room number) and a parking permit for your car. you will be given a card with a phone number to call and see when your room is ready....( don't have to come back to the front desk)

Pop century (despite what you read) has pretty good transportation to the parks - it is bus - but it is still just fine...

If possible, plan to be at the MK on your switching day, then you're a short boat ride or bus ride from the WL for your check-in. Come back for lunch or something and move your luggage in then head back to the MK for the afternoon.

We're doing this same thing in Aug, staying at one of the All-Stars first two nights (Fri and Sat) then switching to the VWL on Sunday. I planned Sunday for a down morning, though, so we can take our time. You can probably pull it off, I just didn't want to mess too much with it. (That's me, though...laziness is something that pays off NOW! )

We stayed offsite, but checked into BCV just a bit after 8 because we wanted to be at AK at opening. They gave us our keys, we took our car to AK, and all was well. We called a few times to see if our room was ready, beginning at noon, and it was ready around 2. It was a great dedicated studio.

We just did it on May 5and6 at Pops, then the 7th thru the 12th at VWL. Use bus transportation, with no problems.

good luck. we are doing that in August for the first time. Late flight in on Friday and did not want to use points. Staying at POP and then over to BWV for one week. Was nervouse but these boards helped, by saying the luggage can be transferred and we can go about our day. The only think is that we booked pop throught AAA and they have to book magical express, I like being in controll to do that, but I am sure it will all work out. Member services booked our return Me. I wish I could have send my bags right to boardwalk instead of pop from Me , but they said no. So they will probably get there very late Friday night and Have to have them moved again in the morning. Who cares were in Disney. Everyone have a super vacation.!!!!!!!! Good point about checking in early, to activate the meal plan.

Is it possible to bring your luggage with you and have the desk "hold" them until you check in? Then the luggage will be waiting at your new hotel.

Yes, the dinning plan is in effect when you get the room key (ID, cc, tickets). So you can use it immediately if you want too.

you use to be able to to this - but I think with DME this bus will only stop once per customer....
