Pop Century Room Renovations

Have there been any reports of people not getting the room classification they booked due to rooms being out of inventory for renovation? Considering there are a very limited number of preferred pool view rooms I’m guessing they had to either plan for the timing of the rooms being renovated when taking reservations or people would be getting bumped to other room categories.

I’m trying to decide if I should keep my preferred pool view reservation for mid April or if I should try to switch to a preferred room (both to increase my chances for a renovated room and I’m worried I’ll end up in a room at the far end of the resort if the preferred pool view rooms are under construction and there is not one available). I know nobody knows the forecasted construction plan/schedule, but I’m curious if anyone has received messages regarding their rooms or arrived and not had their room category available? Thank you!

I booked as soon as rooms were released for the last week in January/first week in February and preferred pool view was not an option so I'm guessing they blocked out that room category all together when they felt all those rooms would be under renovation. I had checked back and called multiple times and that room category was never an option for my travel dates so I'm guessing that is why. Just hoping to get a renovated preferred room for my trip, thinking my odds are roughly 50/50.

I can imagine! I’ve heard the pool is pretty cool too? We loved walking down the boardwalk at night on our last trip.
We went in August and we were excited about SAB, but it was packed all the time and it was difficult getting a chair. We ended up loving the quiet pool so much more.

That’s good to know! Maybe the reservation schedule is why they started building 5 before building 6 was complete. I’m crossing my fingers you get a renovated room for your trip!

I know there are probably pictures already posted in this thread somewhere, but thought I would just add ours from our trip in September. We were in the 70s section, room 9361. We LOVED the new rooms - so much nicer than before with a lot more room to move around while also having more storage. Definitely also enjoyed the in-room coffee!

That’s kind of how we were at por. We only swam in the quiet pool and really enjoyed it

@loislane thanks for the pictures! I never get tired of seeing new ones. Was this possibly room 0361? That would be in 70s bldg 10, super close to Classic Hall (exactly 2 floors up from my room in February!). 9361 would be in the 80s.

Man, I love that huge TV!

Is that circle thing by the tv a light?

No, relatively certain she has the section wrong. Seventies building ten we closed from the beginning of August to the end of October. Building six was in renovated at that time.

YES and it could land an airplane.

I've never seen so much lighting in one small room.

We turned them all on and were sure we were getting a tan. Overkill.
lol now I’m going to do that just to see how bright it gets

We stopped in and stayed at the Pop for one night on Dec. 29th. Although I've read about upgrades at the Pop, I couldn't believe just how much nicer the rooms are now! I think they are nicer than some of the mods, especially ones that are in need of renovation. The beds were fantastic! Such a huge improvement from what are in the All Stars now. We're staying at POFQ in March, which is being renovated starting next week. I hope they do as nice of a job there as they did at the Pop!

And regarding that big circle light to the left of the TV--we agree! The lights in the room are bright, but we had to turn that huge circle light off. It was super bright!!

Ah, my mistake - I overlooked her saying when the pics were taken. I just assumed "new post=new pictures." Thanks.

I haven’t read through the whole thread so I apologize if this is somewhere in here-
Does anyone have a pic of where a pack and play fits if the beds are down?

We just returned from a 8 night stay in a renovated room in building 8 We did early check in to get our magic bands ( 6am ) we where offered a room but not renovated . I asked for renovated room cast member said no problem but that room would not be ready till later ( we got email around 3 ) I do agree that Mouse keeping is not as good as it used to be but room was clean and tidy every day ( coffee not stocked up not even one towel animal ) Maybe is was just lucky but I found the Bus service better than past trips even at park closing never waited more than 20 min or so we really in joyed the new coffee showers and beds but not build 7

We stayed at POFQ two years ago and akl/por last year and never had any fun towel animals. They didn’t rearrange our stuffed animals or anything. I was a little upset because I’ve seen so many great pictures of this but I got over it pretty fast.
