We spent Wednesday night at the Pop Century to celebrate Turkey Day. We chose the Pop because we will soon be moving very close to Disney and the Pop is one of only 2 resorts we hadn't stayed at yet.

We checked in around 4:30 and there was no one in line, CM was very friendly and check in was quick. I had booked online using a Florida residents discount, they did check my ID and we were granted the one request I made, for a top floor room.

We were in building 10, the 70's, room 0404, top floor across from the giant Mickey phone. Room location was great, close to the 90's parking lot and right next to the food court. The room was in great shape, very clean and pretty cute.

The resort is great, so much fun and I think the overall layout is much better then the All-Stars. We didn't swim because it was way too cold but the pool looked really cute. We loved the food court, so much nicer then the All-Stars! It has great selections, wide variety and a really cute store with lots of Pop century merchandise to choose from. They even had tie- dyed Mickey ears!

We used the buses and waited no longer then 5 minutes for a bus to and from the parks.

The only compliant I have is about the thin walls, it wasn't bad for 1 night but for a week, it would probably be pretty annoying, especially if you were stuck with noisey neighbors. We could hear running water and voices from the next room in the morning, enough to wake us up at 7am. After being out at the MK until 2am, I needed sleep and thankfully the neighbors were off by 7:45 and I was able to fall back asleep.

Overall, it was a great stay and were happy we chose to stay at the Pop, it's a great value and hands down the best value resort Disney has to offer!

Thanks for the review.
We are staying at Pop for the first time in January. Before that we stayed at All Star Sports 3 times. We decided to splurge and get the preferred room.
:earsgirl:

And have stayed there many times, however, the kids running up and down the halls, and the "flushing toilets" do get to me sometimes. :confused3 For longer trips, more than 2 nights, I stay at CBR which is a more quiet resort. :cloud9:

We check in to the PC resort next Friday--can't wait!! Everything the OP states is true, we love this resort. Would I rather stay at WL, or AK? Sure, if it was the same rate!! But the value for the buck is best at PC, I think. We have stayed at the ASMo before, and that was really cute, walking out our door to overlook Andy's bedroom-really neat decor. But we tried PC, and now we are hooked. One huge advantage that PC has over the AllStars is that PC has their own busses. One busy morning in October when we stayed at ASMo, the bus finally pulled up to take us to MK, and it was almost full-SRO before any of us got on. I can only imagine what happens during peak season (0f course they run more busses, but still...) when the AS sports and ASMu are both loading up the bus before stopping to let a few on from the ASMo.......

I love the music played at PC, I guess it shows my age-I remember everything except the 50's stuff......

I loved the music too. On Wed. night we were at the bus stop and "Do the Hustle" was playing! My kids and I were dancing along. :teeth:

Interesting observation. However, each of the All-Star Resorts (Sports, Music and Movies) have their own buses that run each morning to the MK. They don't share buses on the MK route. Going to and coming from MK, each All-Star Resort have their own individual buses.

We check into the POP tomorrow morning and can't wait. From the sounds of it, it seems like most people staying at the POP have had a postive stay. At first I was a bit worried about staying there, but it worked out that it would be the best place for us to stay. I know the rooms are small and the walls are thin, but I dont plan on staying in the room that much so it shouldnt be an issue. Also glad to hear that the buses ran smoothly and there wasn't probs waiting for them. Since we are not having a rental, we will be using them a lot.

Stacerita- You'll have a great time, it's a really fun resort. The best part about it, is that it's a one of a kind place, there's definitely nowhere else like it. :teeth:

Have a safe and happy trip!

Wow, it sounds like a really great resort. We will be there Dec 31 for 8 nights.
Is there anywhere around the lake to see any sort of wildlife (ducks etc)?
Thanks
Suzy

ducks and cranes and some kind of really big bird are everywhere around the lake at Pop...you can sometimes see them throughout the resort, but mostly on the lake side. Squirrels and things too, but lots of birds!

Thanks so much for the review! I've also read mixed reviews and was a slightly afriad about my stay (checking in on Monday). But if all I have to worry about is potential noisy neighbors, that's not a worry for me. I sleep like the dead ... especially after a commando day at WDW. Thanks and I CAN'T WAIT!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Yes, there are elevators.

Palmtreegirl, thanks for the review. DH and I love POP. Yes, it's noisy (and the smoke outside the food court really gets to me!), but the atmosphere is very festive and it's a great value for the price.

Cannot wait to experience it, I have heard many reviews, mostly good ones.

Thanks so much for making us look forward to our upcoming visit to what DD calls the Play doh hotel!

My freinds and I stayed at the PoP this past Oct and we loved it. We thought the layout of the place was freakin hilarious. We had no complaints about the rooms at all. We didnt hear any noises from the next room over at all. Maybe because we had a few to many lava lamps every night we were there lol. The only thing that that kinda bothered me was the smell as soon as you enter Everything PoP. It was like a sweet kinda smell that made me feel a little queezy in the stomach. All in all though the service was great and never had a problem with the tranportation to and from the parks.

Right now my fiance and I are planning our 1st WDW trip together. Out all the places she looked at online, she chose the PoP. May 2006 can't some soon enough.

Thanks for the review, we have 28 days and counting down till our stay at POP Century, I too have heard great reviews and have heard about the thin walls, it dosent bother me but hubby is real sensitive about the sound so I told him to bring his ear plugs just in case.......Cant wait!!!!!

We just returned from 7 nights at Pop Century, and we were happy with the resort.

We found the bus service to be good, I think our longest wait was maybe 15 minutes, and considering it was Thanksgiving week, I thought that was great.

The resort in general was clean, as a matter of fact there wasn't too many days when I didnt see a CM cleaning something outside, they actually run a buffer on the concrete sidewalks..

Food court was nice, although busy at peak times, but what eating place isn't.

We would stay there again.
