For those wondering what the updated Pop rooms look like, I just arrived and took these today.

The "rug" is an inlay and not a physical rug or vinyl sticker. Other updates include new chairs and an updated window curtain with the silhouette of Mickey with a speech bubble containing, "Oh boy!". They also now have a dedicated bin for recycling in the room and a new thermostat. Everything else appears to be the same just with a new coat of paint. The Murphy bed and regular bed art are the same pre-reno.

Note: There are no official announcements by Disney or any reliable online sources to substantiate the information above so personally waiting for more info before fully accepting this information.

It’s not common practice for someone to ‘check-in’ to one of these rooms and yet none of the Disney blogging community or Disney Parks to post.

I like what was posted, just waiting for more evidence.

I wonder if they added the “rug” so that the floor didn’t look scuffed up in that area.

The inlaid rug is an interesting new addition and certainly adds a nice pop of color. The curtain is cute, too.

This was posted late last night. It usually takes a few months to Catch on to the room updates, Disney won't update there website until next year once the room referbs are complete. Sources from the Facebook group are saying that they are only doing small sections at once and not the entire building. I would also look at the past room referbs threads Sports, Movies and Music and Pop but didn't really follow that one as they were done in a similar manor.

While I respect that, a friend and I hosted an entire thread of room refurbishments for Pop the last time refurbished happened. Yes, it happens in ‘wings’ of rooms. Each building has 3 wings so basically 30 different portions of the resort will be updated over the 1 year of the project.

You are correct that Pop Century’s website will likely not post updated pictures until the refurbishments are complete or nearly complete but, many reliable websites (Disney Parks Blog - Disney’s official site for posting announcements; Disney Tourist Blog; Disney Food Blog; Blog Mickey; WDW News Today and many others) have not posted anything which makes me cautious to believe this post at this time. I will happily change my thoughts if a reliable source posts information substantiating what you posted above.

Fair. It does sound though like they may have just started assigning new rooms today - and if they didn't have word out that it was happening, the vliggers may not have all rushed to try and book rooms. Just playing devil's advocate.

You could be totally correct. I’m just saying to those reading that the pics may be accurate or, they may not. Time will tell. Since the first block of rooms have been closed for 4 weeks and a day, hopefully those rooms re-open soon, and as you says, possibly they have. We are only aware of 2/30 wings having closed so far so to meet the 1 year timeframe, they’ll need to keep things moving forward.

Time will tell.

Suggesting the photos are fake? Or some sort of sample that is not indicative of the final product?

What I’m saying is one person on FB has claimed these are their photos. Nothing has been substantiated by any reliable source at this time.

That is what I’m saying. Nothing more, nothing less.

I’m not one to believe one unknown person when it’s something of this size when it comes to Disney. I am waiting to see what is deemed to be a reliable source, or even someone active here to provide a first-hand report. That’s what I’m saying and what I’ve said throughout today.

BlogMickey has photos of the refurbishment, released by WDW: https://blogmickey.com/2025/05/refreshed-pop-century-guest-rooms/
