Hi. We'll be stay @ the Pop in March. I'd like some more info. regarding the Parking situation. We've requested a 70s section room. Is there still a parking problem? If so, what section has the most preferable parking? Also is it true that the A/C is only so-so? March will be a little warmer than January.

Tyler?? Anyone?

Thanks,
wrabs.

Parking is no different than at any other resort. You park where you can find a spot and walk from there. You may find one near and you may have to walk a bit.

The A/C would only go "down" to sixty eight degrees. I found it a bit warm for sleeping. Not a huge problem, but then I was there in January, so not a huge issue. Could be a problem with warmer weather.

We were in the 70's last week and there is a parking lot very close...however, we only found a spot in our lot 3 times our entire stay. We parked in the front lot which is "officialy' check in parking, but the front desk told us to park there. It is only a 50 feet or so from the end of the 70's parking.

The thermostat is pre-set, but my understanding is that if you want it lower you can call maintenance and they will turn it down for you.

We were there for 7 nights in Jan. but I can't help you with parking since we only had a car on our check in and check out days. ( didn't have any problems on those days though and we were in 70's section.)

However I will tell you our story about the AC. When we checked into our room and were unpacking it was 1pm and a VERY cold day out. HIGH of 50! So we shouldn't have been warm in the room and yet we were all 4 of us thought it was warm. The thermastat said 68 and I knew from reading these boards that is as low as it goes. But I had also read that people had been having problems with it too. So we called and maintaince was in our room within 10-15 minutes and we worked on it for at least 20 minutes or so. (We were unpacking and organizing this whole time.) He said that it will only go to 68 however they have been having a sensor problem with them and he said that even though ours said it was 68 it was actually 75. (i think that was it, but it was mid 70's??) So he reset something on it and said that should fix it and let it actually cool down to 68 for real. Which it did and for the next 7 days and nights (which did get up to 70 outside) were just fine. As a matter of fact my DH was freezing but I like it cold! So if your room is warm definatly call and have it checked!!

The parking situation for the 70's is still being worked on. The current 70s lot will become the 90's lot, and the 70's lot will move into the huge lot that is currently 80's/90's. This lot is never even close to full. Once this changes around, things will be much better, provided that people park where they are assigned.

And just like the mall, some spaces are closer than others.

As for the thermostat, if you have any problems, just call maintenance, and they will take care of it for you.

We also found the room very hot and muggy when we got in. I just thought Floridians freeze under 70 degrees! We fiddled with the A/C and finally, after pressing the fan button a few times, we noticed that the display would say if it was on hi, lo, or auto. We set it to hi and went out for an hour and when we came back it was a lot better. We opened the door (it was 65 or so outside) and it helped freshen it up.:sunny:

The current 70s lot will become the 90's lot, and the 70's lot will move into the huge lot that is currently 80's/90's.

That seems like a good idea...We were in the 70's building during Dec. and parking at the curb was poular when all spaces were full.

We just came back and I am laughing at the responses and at myself. We always wake up cold and kept the thermostat at 75, particularly after night swimming and at bedtime.

The current 70's lot is actually surronded by 3 buildings - one 70s, one 80s and the 90s. It is not a very big lot. The 80s & 90s lot is on the opposite side of the resort (ie: by the 80's building on the opposite side of the courtyard.) We happend to be in bldg 9 which is 80's but next to the 70's parking lot. CM at check in told us we could park in any lot & admitted if she were in our room, she'd park in the 70's lot. Even though attendance was light (mlk week), the 70's lot was usually full after the parks closed. We ended up in the 80s/90s lot. That lot was deserted and would have been wonderful if we had been in the building on that side of the courtyard. Although it wasn't really that far, it seemed like a huge hike after a full day in the parks with blistered feet - which both DH & I had trouble with this trip.
