Pop Century Prefered Room or POR Royal Guest Room

How is the disney transportation compare for the two resorts going to Disney Springs and the parks?

LOT to Disney Springs has two options - bus or boat. Lol just has bus.

But Pop is more centrally located. It's relatively close to both Epcot and DHS: it will have the Skyliner to these two parks in less than two months: it's much closer to AKL than Port Orleans is.

Looking at a property map would be your best solution, but probably POR by a bit. Magic Kingdom is remote from almost everything except the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake properties

Stayed at both: POR all day, every day.

Then again, I'm one of those rare people who would pick almost anything over Pop.

That being said, I'm there for one night at the end of the month and hoping for a better experience but typically run into the same problems that mickeymom22 did.

I would honestly save the $120/night and go with Pop. Thats a lot of money. Think of the things you could do. At that age, the kids get a kick out of the larger than life icons. Its so fun. I personally love pop. Esp since they refurbed the resort. Queen beds! Rooms look so clean and modern and fresh. Now with the added gondola, its even better.

FWIW ive stayed at pop many many times and not once did i experience over-the-top rowdy guests. Just your usual noise, usually by the main pool.

My vote would go to POR but I would try to sway you to stay at it's smaller sister resort POFQ instead. Just for the more compact size.

I did a split stay between Pop Century ant Port Orleans Riverside last December. We stayed in a renovated room at Pop, very nice and bright and seemed more spacious than when I've stayed before. We then moved to a preferred royal room at POR. The walk seemed longer than when I've stayed before in a river view room. The room was dark and dated. Even my 12 year old agreed with me. We stayed in it one night and then I went to the desk and switched to a nonroyal room. I can't tell you how disappointed I was. I agree, stay in a preferred room or riverview room. POR is a lovely resort. While there you might consider letting your child do the pirate cruise that leaves from POR. The kids ride a pontoon boat and go down the river looking for treasure. My child did it when she was 7 and she absolutely loved it.

Having stayed at both (although not a Royal Room) I would stay at Riverside over POP assuming the price is similar. You can definitely tell a difference in the room size, and we just love that resort. While POP is my favorite value, I much prefer the moderates.
