POP CENTURY ... LAST WEEK of SEPT. 07 MEET

I'm so MAD!!! I understood that they probably wouldn't close it b/c it was too close!!! ARRRGGGHHH...

Where'd you get that info from? I was looking forward to that ride.

Where'd you get that info from? I was looking forward to that ride.

on the dis main page, where they have the news stuff... I saw it after my last post... but WDW website still not saying it is official yet..... here's holding out hope

It is so true that we will have ever so much more fun if we walk and get in better shape for the parks. Do not forget to wear comfortable and broken in shoes as well. No new shoes!! If your feet ain't happy no other body part will be either.

LorilieMarie, just walk circles around your parents. It will help you get in shape and bug the heck out them. A twofer!!! :rotfl2: When they are sitting and taking a well earned rest at the parks you could go shopping or look around a bit. Oops, see that you have a DD so you are not the teen I imagined you were. Heck, go ahead and bug your parents. They probably miss it by now. :dance3:

SlightlyGoofy: Thanks for the advice, but I have a better idea - this year we are leaving them home! ;) We asked them to come, but were relieved when they said no. My DD (10) and I are going to have a sister-friend vacation. She's my daughter, but since neither of us has a sister we call each other sister-friend sometimes. It's going to be awesome! :cool1: :cool1:

We are both walking to get in shape :)

I love my neighbor. No, I am not going on Jerry Springer to talk about it either. :lmao: Last night I noticed something different in my backyard. The security light that had not worked in years was beaming!! We have had a couple of small problems in the neighborhood and the neighbor and I had been talking about it yesterday and I told him that I was going to have an electrician come and fix the security light and do some other things soon. THEN, after I had worked myself into a frazzle yesterday cutting, painting and demolishing the end of the porch in preparation for installing the new end panels today I slept in this morning a bit. Went out with tools in hand and the panels had already been installed. I have COPD so it takes me ten times as long as a normal person to do anything so I was overwhelmed!!! No wonder we have lived in this house for over half of my life and do not intend on moving soon. Yes, I did pay him, but not nearly what he is worth. If I could afford it I would.

LorilieMarie, what a lovely picture I have in my mind of you guys walking down Main Street together. "Makin' Memories!"

keliblue, they pay you for cruising the DIS all day? Are they hiring? That ranks right up there with the fact that I get paid for shopping and eating out. I have friends who call me from the beach at the Poly so that I can hear the EWP. I find that endearing and touching. :rotfl2:

heath-and-javens-mom, all that walking will stand you in good stead and weight loss with be a welcome bonus. Sometimes, especially if you do not have much to lose, it is a bit stubborn and takes a bit of time to come off. Hope all the exercise I am getting from walking behind the lawn mower counts. :woohoo:

SG, who now has time to get other things done. Did I tell you I love my neighbor?? His wife knows it too.

Linda, what a special neighbor!

Well, everyone, we added a new friend to our cast list for our trip. Curious? You'll have to check my trip report! Hint: Many of us dream about him!

My mom nursed my brother for 2 years, I nursed each of mine 6 months, then switched them to enfamil lipil. My DH's aunt had 8, the youngest (now 8) was nursed until she was 4! Can you believe that?
I nursed for about 5 months & then switch to Enfamil lipil too. Hunter is still on it, we tried Similac for awhile but he was so sick. Anyway, I was totally bummed that I didn't lose an enormouse amount of weight nursing...I was so excited thinking I would lose a ton of weight while I was nursing, but nope, not me :confused3

Ok, I'm back! Final payment tomorrow! Yippee!

I broke my toe last month, so I haven't been walking all summer like I planned, but I think I'm finally up to getting on the treadmill. It's time to get into shape before the long slogs down mainstreet at midnight. ;-)
Yay!!! Final payment...I can't wait until I make mine. It's due on the 8th. I think everything will seem so much more real when it is finally paid off.

Hope your toe feels better. That is such a bummer that you hurt it right before your trip.

MORNING GIRLS!
I have been trying to get in shape for our trip-NO not loosing any weight but I have been walking EVERY night with the family (LONG WALKS TOO), hoping this will help when it comes to walking in Disney. :)
I hope evryone is well, I have been super swamped latley with 5 kids(my niece is staying with us too). I havent been able to post much but I am reading!

SO EXCITED 47 days WHOOO HOOOO!:woohoo:
WooHooo!!! 47 days!! Can you believe it??? Our family is in Disney training right now too! I make my hubby go for a walk w/ me every night. It might not be helping with the weight loss, but darn it, we'll be able to walk nonstop while we are at WDW:rotfl: I actually made my mom & dad start walking too. I told them that if they want to keep up with us they better start walking. Last year when we went my dad was in a wheelchair because he had a kidney transplant. I was sympathetic, but it seemed like we moved from park to park sooooooo SLOW!

*******************************************ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYYYUS Good Morning all...
*******************************************ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYYYUS
Another day another dollar  .. I can't believe they pay me to do this all *******************************************ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYYYUS day :rolleyes1 Ahhhh it's good to be the boss My BFF *******************************************ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYYYUS is in Hawaii for 2 weeks... she calls me this morning to tell me that she is "sitting on her balcony over looking the ocean with a Hot cup of Kona coffee:coffee: , watching the sun come up".. BIOTCH !!!

I can't wait to call her from WDW:goodvibes As I'm walking down main street

OK, I'm totally jealous that she is in Hawaii! I want to go so bad. One of my best friends lives in Maui and works for a resort. She is always telling me to go to Hawaii & stay at her resort because she can get me a good deal on a room. Anyone want to go next year??? LOL. A girl's trip would be tons of fun :)

Is RnR seriously going to be closed while we are there??? That is one of my favorites, I'm so sad :(

You know there is litte reason to go to MGM - but I have it on a good source RNR will be down (one little known creepy reason sited is ... do ya remember a young death on the ride (probably an unknown heart condition) well some kids are getting kicks out of riding that coaster - you know they have license plates on the coasters? Well, not after renovating them they wont! supposedly, unless my "source" is pulling my leg!)

I am hoping beyond hope I have the final $486 to pay off that last payment - thank goodness we're going value!!

Farrah, how come you havent been on the Peep thread??? I ussually sshout out to do sit ups etc!! Good luck, I'm having the wrong kind of luck lately!!

HI KELLI!!

oh, I remember, wanted to add my nursing experience...
DS, my first born,, I nursed after reading all the benifets... even went to a LaLeche League meeting... DS was a 10# baby - I kept saying I'd only nurse for 5 - 7 months, once he got teeth, I'm not doing it anymore!! Well, he never bit me! He also had a milk reaction - so my peditrician wass really pushing the nursing, plus I'm really lazy!! (no bottles to clean or fill!!)

Then, when we had him in a Hearing Impaired program, one of those reports came out that nursing babies have fewer ear infections - fewer hearing losses!! I thought schweeew, cant blame that on me!!

akasunshine what a tease!! *grin

Loriliemae My dd 10 is the only one of my kids coming - I'm hoping she'll find some "friends" to hang with at the pool, or maybe even ride a ride with - how boring for her to hang with her parents???!!! BUT ITS DISNEY!! :woohoo:

Still trying to find where my source mentioned rehab of RNR

Here's a tidbit (shhh dont tell where you found it!)

Informationis beginning to materialize regarding the currently in-progress Haunted Mansion refurbishment. Besides upgrades to the audio, lighting and special effects systems, the floating Madame Leota head and the Haunted Bride from Disneyland will both be installed, and best of all, they have both been improved on since the Disneyland installation. Another great addition to the mansion will be a completely new scene, taking place in the former spider scene. It's an all new multiple staircase scene, unique to Florida's mansion. There will also be other additions throughout the attraction scenes, including new props.

The new improved Haunted Mansion is set to open in September 2007. It probably wont reopen early though, as the timescales are apparently very tight to get everything completed.

Upgrades to Audio Systems
Upgrades to Lighting Systems
Upgrades to some Special Effects Systems
Replacement of the current Madame Leota crystal ball effect in the Séance Room with a new version (upgraded from the floating effect introduced at Disneyland)
Replacement of the current Bride figure in the Attic Scene with a new version (upgraded from the "Constance" figure introduced at Disneyland)
Replacement of the Giant Spider Figures in the Staircase Scene with a brand new scene reminiscent of the M.C. Escher Lithograph "Relativity" ( ie multiple staircases in a topsy, turvy orientation)

Refurbishing the Haunted Mansion at WDW is a different kind of process - first, the scenes are cleaned and stripped down, then made to look brand-spanking new, and then made to look old again... but in a purposefully vintage kind of old. Various scenes are at different stages at this time. However, one of the biggest jobs that has to be completed quickly is the replacement of every single "doombuggy." Two new doombuggy models were already in place to test them with guests, but now we have the arduous task of replacing every single one of the old ones with the new versions. This involves moving the conveyor belt one unit further at a time where a team of maintenance guys/gals un-bolts them and carries out "somewhere." The new doombuggy must then be bolted in place by a separate team waiting a few feet farther down the conveyor.

The pop-up ghosts are now gone in the Haunted Mansion attic scene. Unfortunately, the new ghosts were deemed too frightening because they "lunged" towards the vehicles. Although the plan had been to have their heads turned to a more comical face during the day, and only after dark have them turned to a more frightening face, the decision was made and that is that. You will be able to see these props in the graveyard scene, although they will be stationary and I am unaware of their determined location within that scene at this time.

- Much work is being done right now on the incoming attraction at Main Street in the Magic Kingdom. The cinematic attraction is roughly two years away, but hopes are high that we can have it completed six months earlier.

- The Imagination! Pavillion at Epcot is going to receive a major overhaul. Although the plans are absolutely not public at this time, I can confirm to you that the new layout will have the dark ride and theater spill guests into the downstairs "ImageWorks" section while the upstairs "ImageWorks" location will be totally transformed (the pyramids are staying). Both the dark ride and theater will have entrances accessible from the outside of the building, as well as the downstairs "ImageWorks" area.

I cannot comment further on the Imagination! changes, but I will release more information as it becomes less tightly controlled. Until that point, take your salt and let this one little spark of information tide you over...

The layout change has come about because an overview of guest behavior showed that many guests only visited one of the attractions at the Imagination! pavillion rather than both. The layout change will hopefully allow guests to visit the second attraction after they ride their first. We expect this will result in the same boost that "Soarin'" brought to "Living with the Land."

HIya gang - Ok I confess...I haven't really kept up with this thread cause I was pretty sure there was no way in he** I was going to figure out a way to go....but guess what
