POP CENTURY ... LAST WEEK of SEPT. 07 MEET

Good morning all~I can't believe how close we are getting! It won't be too much longer!!!:) :) :)

Has anyone started packing or making shopping lists yet of things that they need to take to WDW? I'm starting to make a list just because I'm traveling with a baby now & it seems like there are so many more things I have to consider then when it was just DH & I traveling.

We don't have little ones anymore so it is a bit easier for us;) now. But... if you start to get to much stuff, just ship it to yourself at POP a couple of days before you arrive. We do that with bottle water, soda, munchies and other suprises (booze ;) )

:dance3:

Don't even get me started...I have a list and a "Disney box" every time I see something Disney related for the trip (toys, ponchos, fans, etc) it goes in the box. I have a ton of toys in there, ponchos both disney and non disney, toiletries, glow sitcks (for the party!), and I have gotten addicted to the boutique kids clothes thread over on the family forum (don't go there unless you want to be addicted too) so now I am making my sons a whole bunch of outfits for the trip. The list is in the box so every time I put something in off the list, I check it off.

Now back to my Excel sheet I am using to plan all of our outfits for each day...:rotfl:

OMG !! NO WAY :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: GOTTA LUV YA:grouphug:

I too have started picking up things for the disney trip, I have been purchasing disney plushes, beach towles, cups, necklessesetc. that I plan on puting in our rooms each day on the beds for the kids, so they will think that someone left them there for them while we were out at the parks! It also alot cheaper to buy these things now rather than in the parks:rotfl: The kids will come home with alot of new things and It wont cost us a fortune:thumbsup2

Are they pretty good about accepting packages & not misplacing them before guests arrive? Since I'm coming from the West coast probably should mail it about a week before right? I definitely need to stock up on water for the time we are there for bottles for my son.

My son is still too young, but this is a great idea for when he gets older. Everyone is so creative on here :) Plus, it will save so much money from having to buy everything while you are at the parks.

I just went on disneyshopping.com and bought 3 beach towls, a Tigger costume for my son, a Mickey Mouse costume for my son and a couple of shirts for everyone in the fam. I think we might try to do MNSSHP 2 nights so I thought it would be fun to have 2 different costumes for him. I'm still not sure if DH & I are going to dress up for the party. Is anyone else here dressing up at all? I need suggestions...:)

Becky....That is where I bought my beach towles as well! I also bought my son, and neices and nephews some PJs on there. Still looking for the glow stuff though...I need to check out my local dollar stores:goodvibes

Kelli- Hope Mark's surgery goes well. I know another mark who is getting ready to have nose/ breathing surgery as well.

Tracie- LOVE the boutique thread!!!

Becky- I have lists, bags of stuff, and general "organized" Disney chaos!:lmao: Anyway, Our family is thinking "Peter Pan" MNSSHP theme. DD wants to be Wendy, DS Peter, DH a pirate, and me a fairy (1of Tinks "unknown" friends)

Thanks for the well wish everyone  I will let Mark read all the posts later tonight... he will smile:)

Becky: they have never lost anything yet when I have shipped, just make sure your package states "Hold for Becky So-n-So, Arriving Sept ___"

Ohhhhhh and I bought 4 beach towels too  guess I am going to have to put our name on them in case one of you all thinks it's yours :rotfl: I bought Tink,Mickey,Pirates & Mermaid. I would of gotten some of the flip flops (which are now $3.99) but I don't know sizes..

/
We usually don't dress up because of the heat :scared: Keep that in mind when your planning, there is nothing worse the sweating in a costume or wig :rotfl: Hey !! We can all go as Streakers :lmao: Now that is a frightning thought :scared1:

Thanks Keli, I'm definitely going to mail a package now so that I don't have to worry about packing it in my luggage & dealing with it on the planes. I got a Mickey, Little Einsteins (for the baby...not me, I swear), and Princess (that one's for me...hehe)

That is a really scary thought...we could wear all of our glow necklaces & bracelets too:rotfl:

I love the Peter Pan theme...so much fun! What night are you guys going to MNSSHP?

This could work! It could be like that story Stone Soup where everyone brought one thing to add to the soup. We don't really have to all DRINK out of it but a ladle and some plastic cups and that tub thingy you were talking aobut and we got ourselves a FABULOUS and FUZZY GLOW PARTY!
We would just need a drink recipe and then people can volunteer to bring (or purchase at the food court) an ingrediant to add.

Wow, what timing with your post!
I found the perfect "travel cereal" packages at Costco a few days ago. And it hit me, I'm now buying stuff for our trip! The first true feeling that our family trip is getting much closer. Time to make a Disney Box like Lutherlovr - thanks for the idea!

Enjoy!

Well its up to you, but I have suggested this to others on the boards that to really experience MNSSHP, everyone has to dress up. You don't even have to go all out. I made this light-up, foam iPod that was attached to my tshirt with velcro. I could move around freely and when MBTYP started up we use it as a cushion on the curb for our butts. There were families that all theme-costumed together: a whole family of Incredibles - awesome!!! Just remember that a special event like Halloween at MK is just as much for the grown ups as it is for the children. Have fun!

Your costume is so much fun! The only problem with me coming up w/ a costume is I am soooo not creative. That's why I'm trying to decide now whether or not my DH & I should dress up or if we should just let our son.

We are going on the 30th. It is a Sunday, so I'm thinking less crowded. Anyone else going on Sept. 30?:stir:

We have tickets (well, I'm still waiting for them in the mail...) for the 28th. We were thinking about going a second night just so that we are stressed out trying to get through everything in 1 night. The 30th is our second choice & the 4th is our third.

I just found this thread, so I'm a little late...

Never too late to join the Pop Glow Party :) Welcome & we look forward to meeting you.

PS: I wish I had your willpower to stay away from DIS while at work...I try to stay away but I just can't...I'm way too addicted now :)
