Pop Century is sold out for my dates!!

Seriously? You'd give up Free Dining just because you didn't get your first choice of hotel? We wanted ASMo, but we took POP because our first choice was sold out. When we go to Disney, we're there to enjoy the parks -- our hotel is for sleeping and swimming.

JMO.:confused3

Yes, seriously. It's free dining, not a free stay.

I have a group of friends whom are all staying at POP. It's my g/f and her daughter's first trip - we wanted POP. Out hotel is also for sleeping and swimming and we like to do so more, at POP.

Im happy youre willing to 'give up your fist choice' but that wasnt what I wanted to do.

JMO.

Each promotion - DDP UK, DDP Bounce Back, DDP Visa, DDP General, 40% off, etc have an inventory of rooms allocated to it. When that inventory is used up, the promotion is sold out, not necessarily the hotel.

As for changing hotels for free dining, that is how we ended up at POP last year when ASMo was sold out. In 2005, we ended up at Music when Movies was unavilable for free dining. I don't see a big difference in Values other than decor, but that is just me, others may feel differently.

COuld you note then have booked a moderate with the free dining for about the same amount as POP with paid dining??

I called and spoke with a CM at 7:00 am and was told that PC, ASMu and ASMo were sold out in both preferred and reg. rooms from Sept. 22 through Sept. 30th. I then got a huge lecture from Ephraim the CM about all of these people booking ahead of time which ruins it for any free dining at Pop because only 10% of rooms are held for this special. :confused3 I took ASSp and called back a few minutes later and got ASMu instead. I hope maybe I can call back in a few days and get a preferred room for my daughter who has some motor issues.

Good luck to everyone! I hope everyone gets the room and dining special they want.
Well I guess I'm one of those people that "ruined it" for all the rest. I booked my ressie at Pop for Sept 15-21 several weeks ago (without even knowing that free dining had a chance of being offered ... was going to pay for that OOP). My TA emailed me to say that she simply converted my ressie to reflect free dining no problem!!!

I remember disscussions that some were saying booking ahead of time would, A.) Screw up chances of others getting to book when it actually comes out because rooms would be full...possibly even causing Disney to eliminate FD.
B.) Or that it wouldn't help you at all because you'd have to cancel and rebook the whole thing. (which isn't true )

Well I got PoP for Sept. 22 to Oct. 1 non preferred room.. if something had happened I did not get it I would have gladly taken any Value... I have stayed at ASMu and liked it just fine.. chose Pop this time around to try something new

can I ask WHEN you booked and got Pop for these dates?

No free dining for me either.... 12 - 17.

Im still going, Ill just be oaying for it. :sad2:

They offered Sports..or Music. No thanks.

Sorry, about POP. Maybe if you keep trying something will open up later as people cancel, rebook, upgrade etc.

Also, I see absolutely nothing wrong with knowing what you want and being willing to pay for it, it's not like you said you won't be going at all.
:thumbsup2

I'm kind of confused because this morning I called to change my original reservation Oct. 31-Nov. 14 to Sept. 22-Oct. 6 so that we would be able to have free dining. I called at 7am on the West Coast (3 hr. difference I think?) and they changed it with no problem. We were booked in POP and got free dining.

I guess now I am worried that my reservation might be messed up...I went online to check my reservation & it reflects the changed dates & price, but now it doesn't say anything about Disney Dining Plan. I'm worried & totally confused...  Anyone else have something similar happen?

I just did the online for the POP. For my dates it said that it wasn't available.
I took away the water parks and redid it. Like magic a standard room from Sept 1 to 10th was now available. It did have the free dining as I used the link from another thread. Hope that helps others!:cool1:

There is no reason that they shouldn't add dining to your ressie.. keep trying sister friend:hug: We have some pigging out to do in Septem:dance3:

:cool1: We were able to book Pop Century Preferred for 9/7 through 9/15. Only other Value available was ASMusic Standard. They also offered an upsell for I think it was Boardwalk and/or Beach Club (I wasn't paying close attention LOL) for $3400+. :cool1:

Yessss....but as previously mentioned, I wanted POP.

I know, Ill be patient.... if not, then not...but maybe it will, who knows.

And thanks... I just want POP! :rotfl:

I called at 6 a.m. CST on Monday 4/9 and after waiting an hour, I got a Pop standard room for 9/22 - 10/1 which was my first choice. We have never stayed at Pop (or any other value), but from the looks of it, Pop must be awesome! It looks like it has been the hardest to get, followed by ASMo maybe? I feel very lucky that we will get to try it out and I hope all of you get a sprinkle of pixie dust and can change your ressies to your first choice! pixiedust:

I guess I got lucky. I didn't call till alomost 10am was on hold for about 10 min and we got Sept 2 to Sept 9 @ POP. I wanted Sept 1 to Sept 9. The CM told me to keep checking back for Sept 1 she says there is always cancelations. But I am happy with Sept 2 to Sept 9 even if we can't get the 1st.

I couldn't get Pop for 9/15 - 9/22 standard or preferred. This bummed me out. I booked ASMusic for 9/15 - 9/22. Checked online and Pop available 9/22 - 9/29/07. I have been trying to get through to disney by phone for over an hour to try and book 9/22 - 9/29 pop. DH is trying to change his vacation at work so we can go a week later. I really want Pop. he says it doesn't matter to him. I just don't know what to do. I booked our dining reservations weeks ago for week of 9/15.

I need coffee from WaWa to figure this one out. :surfweb:
We will eat good regardless of the week I guess.

I too am bummed about the POP not being available :sad2: :sad2: . I really think that they are pushing ASSp, & ASMu because these resorts do not book as quickly as ASMo & POP to the general public (people who have no idea that there are codes, discounts, etc.)

I think they feel comfortable that these 2 resorts will book witout any discounts, so therfore, there were not as many rooms available under the code.

As usual, Disney marketing always has a strategy. I could be wrong of course, just my opinion.

Im gonna keep trying for POP - either way Ill be there, thoguh...

And if you see someone that looks like me (see pic below) glaring at you in a restaurant because she had to pay for dining and you didnt, it really isnt me. :rolleyes1

Sounds to me like the people with Disney Visas got most of the rooms. How the heck can they sell out a certain hotel on a set date in one minute? Sounds like they did not hold over that many rooms, if any at all. :confused3

I just called again (4th time today:rotfl: ) and that is exactly what the CM I spoke with told me. He said with Visa, bounce back and UK, they didn't HAVE to offer up as many rooms for the general public.

Why are some people getting it???

That's very confusing to me that you couldn't get POP. I didn't call to make reservations until 8:30 EST. I was on hold for almost 45 minutes and then remembered I could book on-line. Just as I got my confirmation number for POP (8/26-8/31), a CM answered. I told her I had just booked on-line and received my confirmation number just as she picked up, but the on-line booking didn't allow me to add free dining.

She said she would add it for me, but then her computer started acting up. From what she said, alot of computers were acting up. I wonder why??? ;) She took all of my information and said she would call back. She called back in less than 10 minutes and confirmed that I have POP booked for 8/26-8/31 and she had added the free dining for me.

I wonder why it's allowing some and not others? Maybe it's the dates? :confused3 Good luck! I hope you get what you want for your vacation!

The CM I just spoke said he could book 8/26-8/31 for me, but not 8/31-9/4.

Like everyone says....KEEP TRYING!!!! I was just able to book the free dining at POP for my neighbor from 9/22-29 Preferred Room!!! Just keep trying if you really do have your heart set one staying there!! :wizard:
