Pop Century is sold out for my dates!!

We booked an accessible room at Pop with the bounceback offer ( I am in a power wheelchair) Aug 31-Sept 14 ( two weeks) last fall for three adults/one infant. As far as transportation goes, we stayed the first two years with free dining at ASMovies and last year at Pop. Pop was MUCH worse- there were long w/c lines, lots of people in ECV's and we waited quite a bit. At ASMovies, it wasn't nearly as challenging. Of course you never know who will be s/a your resort at the same time who also needs a lift bus and tie downs. I don't mind waiting for someone else either but I feel for my service dog who has to lay in the sun and feel the pavement heat. Just as an FYI the beds at ASMusic and ASSports are much more comfortable as they are the new pillow top type and the rooms there are gorgeous. We stayed one night at ASSports last month for an event and they now have special tables for the accessible rooms where you can roll right under- I was really impressed. So there really isn't a worse location or a better location and each resort has something to be said for itself. The special activities and pool movies/bingo at ASMusic are lots of fun and create a wonderful atmosphere to return to after a park visit. This year I was particularly glad to have the option to book BB due to my special needs and wanting the 14 nights/needing a value resort for this trip. Just remember that seeing availability online (until the promo comes out) doesn't mean there's room availability with the promo.---Kathy

Hi Kathy, I am trying to decide between Pop and ASMovies for our fall trip. We are currently booked at POFQ with the bounceback offer, but I really need to go back to a value to save more money. I really prefer POFQ, but my family loved Pop as their all time favorite (even over Wilderness Lodge! ), so I figured that's where I would switch to. It sounds like you found lots of pluses at ASM as compared to Pop, but I am sure you liked something better at Pop since you are going back there. The softer beds certainly sound like a plus at ASM! We thought the lines were especially long at Pop and with at least one ECV on each bus, sometimes more. With our two small kids, the less wait time in line for a bus, the better! Any advice or other comparisons you have would really be appreciated. DD LOVED the icee machine at Pop. Do they have that at ASM? I'm thinking Pop is the only place that has it, but just wanted to double check on that.

THANK YOU! :goodvibes

The reason we're going back to Pop is for the icee machines, which I hope are working while we're there. I have a son in renal failure who is very limited in how much liquid he can have between dialysis sessions and icees, being so much "air" are a real treat for him. Otherwise I'd choose ASMusic or even ASSports now that it's renovated...in a heartbeat. We were moved from ASSports last month to ASMovies due to construction at Sports and I felt like I was going from a gorgeous room to one that was really trashed out and didn't have the nice furnishings or feel to it plus the hard beds. I hesitate to use the word "dump" as I love everything Disney but there was just no comparison. As to the food courts though, ASMovies looks much nicer so once we were out of the room it wasn't so bad. It all depends on what you're looking for and really there's something positive at each resort, even the value resorts, for every single person who visits WDW. I'd rather be onsite at Disney in the least costly resort than offsite in the most costly and grand. BTW I realized belatedly that someone had pulled this thread from last year although the info is probably still pertinent. Goes to show not to post early in the morning before you're really awake, lol.---Kathy

Here is a preview of what happened last year! An interesting thread to read...........
