Pop Century is Far Out!

What is this all about? Is it an entry to a pool? Can people (kids) play in it?

WOW Tyler thanks for the great pictures!!!!! I can't believe we'll be checking in 2 weeks from today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tyler,
You should get a commission on all the reservations coming in because of your posts! :D

Great Pictures! I can't wait to see it for myself in just a few weeks!

I think the goofy's jet - works like the one in Epcot (between FW and WS) and DD - it is just for kids to get wet in - no swimming pool - doesn't look like 70 building has a swimming pool.

Wow Tyler, great pictures and information. We are staying there before our cruise in April. We are going to be in WDW Jan 10-18 maybe we should change to Pop Century for that trip. It looks great.

Tyler,

Another question for your FAQ section.

Do you know if we will be able to pick up MVMCP tickets & wrist bands and Candle Light Processional Dinner package badges & coupons (that have already been pre-paid) at the PC guest services?

Thanks again for all your help and information.

Wow, looking at those pictures made me so excited that I picked PC. I was leaning towards POR but $61 a night was too good to pass up. I can't wait to get there and check out the resort for myself.

Just made reservation for Pop Century for our January trip. We need to cancel our All Star for the same time. I can't wait. Something new! And new mugs too!

Glad everyone liked them. I'm hoping to have the video up soon... that should be really cool.

Answers --

Room Assigner -- I don't have that information available to me at this time. I'm also on good terms with them right now, I'd like to keep it that way. LOL I'll see what I can do to find out any information that I'm allowed to pass onto the guests.

Families and Kids buildings -- Just like all the rest of the resorts, they will be scattered. It's Disney, so expect a lot. :)

Bus Stop -- At the top of Classic Hall. No more than a 5 minute walk from ANY room. Bus stops will also feature queue lines!

Preferred Buildings -- the 60's buildings. They are very close to the bus stop, Hippy Dippy pool, and Everything POP. (However, so is every other building.) Would I recommend them? Well, I always recommend preferencing whatever decade you and your party would associate most with. And if that's the 60's, then go for it. 60's are closer, but anyone who is worried about distance from a standard room, no need to worry at all.

Marina -- We will not have a marina. That is an amenity that is found in Moderate and Deluxe resorts only.

Goofy's Pop Jet Area -- This is one of those water jet areas that kids seem to love. It's large, and has that padded foam ground. It can be found in the 70s area. I'm sure it will be a hit with the kids. There is also a kiddie pool area, but I'm sure some kids will prefer the pop jets.

Holiday special event tickets -- Yes, I have heard that you should be able to pick them up at Guest Services.

Well folks, today is our first day! Y'all thought that the 14th was opening day, but right now we have special by invite only CM previews for the next few days. Mine is Monday. But this is a good thing. We want to have folks in here, to test everything to make sure it all works. This way, everything will be perfect for y'all when you get here!

Tyler,

Thank you so much for answering ALL the questions so well, and the pictures were GREAT!

I do.. have a questions about the room assignments, and I know you are not involved with this.. but.. i have to ask. I LOVE the theming of the 60s building... Lady & the Tramp are my DDs FAVORITE. I also have a standard room ressie. Could I request a 60s room, and note that I would not mind being FAR away in the 60s building. I know.. I have 2 mos to worrry. But, I do worry. I am a planning addict. I cannot help it.

"hi my name is deedee, i am addicted to planning"
Thanks Tyler

Ok, I have spent my entire morning reading this thread and all I can say is WOW! What great info. Thanks Tyler of the info and pics and anyone else who posted the pics...Janet for one. Just last week we decided we'd be returning to Disney for spring break. Last year the plan was to stay at ASMo, but DH's family decided to invade our vacation and changed to POR. DS was a bit disappointed. Since then he's seen some pics of PC and has decided this is "the" place to be. I can't wait to tell him that we're going and PC is where we're staying. I think I'm even more excited since reading this thread. I can't wait to hear all the trip reports! Keep the info coming and we'll be seeing you early April!!

Tyler - good luck opening day, I hope things run smoothly!

Wow! I love the pictures. We have 12 days and some odd hours left. I want to leave now!

Thanks so much for all the information you've given us on PC! I am SO looking forward to being there -- especially since I've already "seen" some of it. Your info has been invaluable. You are one of those CMs who go out of their way to make sure we all have a great time. Kudos to you!

See ya real soon!

I just keep telling myself how Disneyland's opening day in 1955 was a major disaster... and look how great they turned out! So as long as we can do better than that, we'll be all set... lol :)

Tyler again thanks for the pictures. We used the code to get a better deal. My husband told me that if a code came out and we could get POR for the same price that we were paying at PC originally, we could switch. Well, out comes the code, and he decides he'd rather save money. :( Everytime I read one of your updates, though, I'm so excited about staying at Pop Century. Thanks for taking the time to share with us.

hmmm, I see the menu for PC is out on allearsnet.com. Didn't know if this was new news or if I'm just now hearing about it. Just thought I'd share.

Plus, I needed to see...I finally have a countdown timer :Pinkbounc

Thanks for the heads up on the menu! I was hoping they would have mac and cheese for my daughter whose goal it is to eat mac and cheese for every meal at Disney World! She does want to try the tie dyed cheesecake too.

Lookes like they have a good menu. We are vegetarians, and always worry about what will be available. Can't wait to be there!
